Kept the same choices through three pregnancies and didn't get to use them. Well, I suppose we could have, but I don't think the boys would have thanked us. Ditto - except she was going to be Gael Alice Joyce. Joyce was DH's mum's name and I thought if it was last before Moor, it would be a nice tribute to a lovely lady who didn't live long enough to see us married (instead of just living in 'sin'). Guest guest
said...... is now at school and his best friend calls him Tommy ahhh, but there is nothing I can do. My MIL hates the name (not the child mind you) and she never calls him by it. -------- We have a , as well. I almost always call him , while DH calls him Tommy. At work he is Tommy or Tom, and to friends is Tom. When someone phones and asks for Tom, I always have to think, even though he is nearly 21!! Schools up here ask what you\your child like to be known as; I always like them to be called by their full name, as its a demarcation between home and school. But people can't resist shortening Beatrice to Bea, which is one of the things we call her at home. What does your MIL call ? Lesley
