Guest guest
My husband and I have been so carefull. We have never vaccinated our children, no antibiotics, and we don't eat much fish. We do live about 10 miles from a steel plant and I have dental fillings--but no dental work while pregnant. It's hard when everyone is saying mercury from fillings and all the smoke coming from the steel plant is considered safe. If the enviroment is so safe, where is autism coming from and why has it become such an epidemic. Why do I have two other neighborhood families within one block with autism spectrum children. In the valley we live in the autism rate is 1 in 150 children! Someone is in denial and it's not me!

(I would check the " files " section of this discussion group to understand how to evaluate whether it might be mercury.) You could have passed mercury on to your fetus, so you might check yourself as well. FWIW, I wish we had been as careful with our child as you were with yours. Guest guest
I believe that dental amalgams could be the main source of mercury, enough to cause problems. My son had terrible illness and regression after one of my amalgams was broken, and I was breastfeeding him at that time. Even 4 months after I stopped breastfeeding, his blood mercury was high. The only source at that time were my amalgams (I had only 4). Margaret > My husband and I have been so carefull. We have never vaccinated our > children, no antibiotics, and we don't eat much fish. Guest guest
>only FOUR FILLINGS. Considering that each " silver " filling has about 500mg of Mercury, four fillings is plenty ... to cause problems. Consider this work environment scenario REAL --a 19yrold healthy female, with no dental fillings and in perfect health, goes to work as dental assistant. She has some exposure to mercury but it is not due to fillings but environmental exposure. After 4 years of that office exposure level, her blood and urine tests would show the equivalent level of Mercury in her system as if she had 19 fillings, although she has NONE. Mercury in silver fillings is powerfully dangerous, and always has been. Mercury in injectable drugs is powerfully dangerous, and always has been. Mercury is catastrophic to human health, and always has been !! Dolphi [ ] Re: Where did my son get exposed to enough mercury to cause autism? Guest guest
Hi-- re: your dental assistant scenario--was that based on someone you know? Guest guest
I would be concerned with anyone being a dental assistant I have casually noticed at meetings of parents with Autistic children a noticeable number of them are in Dental work arena and my friend who has MS goes to meetings and there is more than one person from that line of work - they just must constantly breath in Mercury fumes. Not a good line of business to be in. Guest guest
Dolphi, I had never considered how much mercury was in a single filling. I had 14 fillings whilst carrying my daughter. But 500 mg seems an awful lot for ONE tooth! [ ] Re: Where did my son get exposed to enough mercury to cause autism? Guest guest
I practiced 25years as Oral Surgeon, working in and around the oral cavity in a highly TOXIC environment. The scenario is from Documented evidence and REAL. I have thousands of pages of documents available. Dental assisting is for ROBOTS ONLY, a tragedy to subject a young woman to that environment You can email me privately. Dolphi [ ] Re: Where did my son get exposed to enough mercury to cause autism? Guest guest
>I had never considered how much mercury was in a single filling. Would your dentist have told you if you asked him? Many states, the dentists are prohibited from telling you the truth...per their licensing agreement with the State they are licensed in. >I had 14 fillings whilst carrying my daughter. Have you had them removed? How is your daughter? >But 500 mg seems an awful lot for ONE tooth! That's considered about average. Remember " silver " fillings are a putty-like material when placed in the tooth.. about 50%liquid mercury and 50%powdered silver.... +_ a few % of zinc, tin, and a few other things. When it sets up, they scrape and carve it and the scrap, laden with Mercury looking for a place to go... usually goes under your highly vascular tongue and passes directly into your bloodstream. Mercury is the MOST TOXIC non-radioactive element on this earth. It exists in all 3 physical states at room temperature---solid, liquid, and gas with a Negative Vapor pressure. When combined (amalgamated) with Silver it becomes an alloy. ALL ALLOYS oxidize and break down. The byproduct ends up in your GUT wall and lining. It is more toxic than lead or arsenic!! The amount of Mercury in a filling is toxic enough to contaminate a 10 acre lake and all the fish in it. Yes, Mercury is toxic and contaminates where-ever it goes....almost permanently.
