Guest guest
Lots of Norwegian (NW and W), Swedish (widespread), Finnish (NE) background, but also LOTS of German, Czech and Polish. See the US ancestry maps at http://www.mnplan.state.mn.us/maps/ancestry/. Minnesota is NOT representative of the rest of the nation (in ancestral heritage, anyway). Arne 53 - UC 9/77 - PSC 4/00 Alive and (mostly) well in Minnesota -----Original Message----- From: ....CONCLUSIONS: These data represent the first population-based estimates of the incidence and prevalence of PSC in the United States. The incidence and prevalence of PSC were approximately one third of those previously described for primary biliary cirrhosis in the same population. Our data suggest that the prevalence of PSC in the United States, with its attendant medical burdens, is significantly greater than previously estimated. PMID: 14598252 However, is this estimate of the incidence of PSC in the U.S. unusually high because this specific population that they studied in Minnesota, might have a strong Scandinavian ancestry, and so might not be representative of the rest of the U.S. population? Perhaps Arne could comment on this? Best regards, Dave (father of (19); PSC 07/03; UC 08/03)

Guest guest
A little late in responding ... but I come from a very strong Czech background (1/2), which means my daughter could be 1/4 - however her father comes from a very strong (1/2) Hungarian background.
