Guest guest
I thought that I would never need your literature search since Lonnie has had his liver transplant (and is doing pretty well, not back to work, though). but... Lonnie's aunt called me to tell me about a friend of hers who died immediately following surgery to repair some internal bleeding. The original surgery was to remove some ulcers. When the surgeon opened him up, he found bleeding and couldn't figure it out (this friend was at a very small hospital). He was referred to a Regional Hospital, who then referred him to Chicago. The wife was told by the Chicago doctors that her husband had Budd- Chiari syndrome and had he not had the original surgery for the ulcers, they would have never found it. As I understand it, there are no early symptoms, by the time there are signs, it looks more like a heart problem. I have sent the link to your literature site so Lonnie's aunt can read up on it and hopefully understand what happened. She had come to me asking about it because the wife was asking if this syndrome had ever been mentioned during Lonnie's illness. Thanks, again for making this available!
