Dear ,

I was so happy to read your post--for a milion reasons!!!

It sounds like you AND have a much better relationship now. True, you

would like to see her doing more and having people expecting more of her, but

that doesn't seem to be in the cards right now. What you both still have,

though, is a friendship borne of time and love. She loves seeing you and it

sounds like the time you share (are sharing this weekend) is perfect and what

friends do: enjoy one another for who they both are. I am happy about that.

And moving in with your boyfriend and having time to work that out!! How very

nice for you and surely you know (or I hope you know) that you deserve this!

Thanks for the update--so nice to hear from you.

a,

Sorry to hear about your sons recent situation. 's nissen has failed her

twice, as a result of a hiatal hernia both times. She is now J-tube fed. They

are concerned the scar tissue will no longer hold, have they ever mentioned

this to you before? It was a setback on getting her to eat orally, but she seems

much happier with the J-tube. I hope everything goes well with the tests, and

that everything can be resolved for you all quickly and starts to

feeling better soon..

You are in my thoughts and prayers,

there doing the nissen?? In nursing school they were talking about a new

procedure called a stretta out here that is done instead of nissens, but I

don't know if it has 'gone west' yet. I didn't realize had had 4

done!! Hang in there-we'll keep you in our prayers!!

soon to take care of whatever is going on. I'm so glad to hear that he is in

I am so glad that your personal life is going well and that is

getting the apartment with supervision. Being a friend to is

probably better for her in the long run than you having to be the boss all

the time and setting your own life aside indefinitely. You'll both enjoy

each other much more.

I do pray for her mother.

I was having computer issues when you first posted so I didn't welcome you and

send you my best wishes and prayers by email -- but I did send them silently!

Congratulations on the birth of your beautiful twins!

I'm sorry for the surgery delay but I hope it turns out to be a blessing in

disguise.

To your entire family,

Welcome. You will love it here.

I guess it was a blessing the surgery was postponed. Here's to hoping things

continue to improve easily. Please let us know how the surgery goes.

My daughter Patty is now 21 and doing fine. But there are some things in

life that remain with me so vividly. When other parents talk of PICU I remember

it all. It seemed at that time that we were living in a tunnel. I hated

waking up every day to find something new that went wrong. It felt as though we

were in a war, and we were. That was years and years ago. The medical

interventions have changed since then.

What I learned then and continue on with is how to wake up and be happy for

the day that we are blessed with. There are many little miracles that happened

to or after we had Patty that we didn't see as miracles before. Postponing

JD's surgery is your second. Your children's birth is the first.

We all know that life seems hard when you are in the midst of it. But we all

also know that through the hardness comes great beauty you would never have

imagined if you hadn't been blessed with haveing a child who has CHARGE

syndrome.

Oh yea, the third miracle is being blessed with so many people here on this

list to hold your hand and to understand.

We'll keep you in our thoughts, always.

How lovely to have Olivia home! I am confident that you will get more

comfortable with her care and things will settle down at home. Let's hope

things also stabilize for JD so that he can have a successful surgery and get

home with his sister.
