Guest guest
Kathy... Good to hear from you... I was starting to wonder where you went!! heheheheheh Isn't that weird about the soda? You'd think with all the caffeine that it wouldn't do that.. but you can just feel that need to go curl up... Hmmm.. your the first that has ever said that they prefer the taste of generic over Armour... interesting how we are so different.. I've not had a chance to try Armour yet... I started out with Nutri-meds Thyroid and then went to Time-Caps Labs.. they taste about the same to me... Hurray for your doc!!! I'll be looking forward to seeing your labs... Another hurray for the weight... when our bodies work right they don't want to be over weight.. they don't wont to have to do the extra work of hauling it around and maintaining it.... I don't have much by way of suggestion with the pain. I know for myself I was doing advil by the dozens at a time to control pain, but it did't go away... but as I got my hormone levels up and was able to sleep properly again the pain went... Oh, I still have my bad days... slept funny, over do it sometimes, but no more chronic pain and don't often take anything for it.... I'll be vibing at you... so that the frantic at work settles down, and the finances figure them selves out.. in the mean time have a MERRY CHRISTMAS. I was suprised that when I called to have mydoc call in a refill (which I forgot to ask for at mylast visit) the drug store gave me Armour and not thegeneric thyroid from Qualitest I took for the first 2months, and they charged me the same price. Thegeneric I was on did taste a little better than theArmour, but the Armour seems to dissolve a littlebetter under my tongue.Anyway, I got a card from the office that said my labwork was "normal", so I had to call the office andrequest a hard copy of my lab report. I will lety'all know what it says when I get it. We had adifference of opinion on what bloodwork to run, but hedid agree to run the free T3 along with free T4 andthe usual TSH. I'll be suprised if he didn't run mytriglyceride levels since I've been having so muchtrouble with them. The good news is that sincestarting the natural, I've actually lost a few lbs.with no effort or change in diet or eating patterns.Topper mentioned ingesting high fructose corn syrupaffecting her and giving her the "yawnies". Well Idrank a can of Mt. Dew this afternoon at work (it's myfavorite soda) and I've been feeling tired and sleepyall evening. I don't drink sodas very often, once aweek at most, so it's not usually something I notice. I just happened to read Topper's post and realizedthat, hey, I drank a soda this afternoon and I'mfeeling more sleepy than usual. Now I'm disgusted that I have to find yet another medfor my arthritis. It seems like EVERYTHING is comingunder investigation. I stopped taking Bextra and myblood pressure normalized, so I started takingstraight aspirin, 6 to 8 tabs a day. It was doing ok,but not great, so I decided to take Aleve/OTCNaprosyn. Now they are saying that it's causing heartattacks. I've only been taking it a few days and it'salso just doing ok for the pain so far. I'm onlytaking 3 to 4 a day of the 220 mg. otc tabs, but thelabel says not to take more than 3 in a 24 hourperiod. The dosage of the prescription Naprosyn is abit higher at 500 mg twice a day. I'm trying to getby with 2 tabs a day, but the weather has been sochangeable I've needed more. I'm also under a LOT ofstress this month with us being shorthanded at workand financial problems right now. I'm managing tokeep my head above water, but barely right now. Anygood vibes anyone wants to send my way will beappreciated. I'm very fortunate and I know it, butthe stress isn't helping my frame of mind right now.=====Kathy >^,,^<KitzCat146@...http://www.chaytongroup.com/modernbill/order/index.php?aid=ka081104http://www.heartwarmers4u.com/members/?kitzcatkitzcat2001 on Yahoo Messengerkitzcat on MSN Messenger
Guest guest
Hi Kathy, It is a bummer when they take your meds but I found that what the doc gave me I needed more and more of, it was the Canadian version of Celebrex. I also started having lots of nosebleeds so thought that this was doing more harm than good. Investigated what there was in alternatives and I am now taking 2 glucosamine sulfate and 2 calcium magnesium per day and have found that they have worked even better for me than the rx did. Magnesium is a bit of a pain killer and I think that recently the ratio has been changed with cal-mag. You might not find the change in the bottles yet, but they are saying that instead of 2 cal - 1 mag it should be the other way round. Read that but can't remember where. Hope that this is of help. It struck me as a bit strange because it really doesn't seem to make much sense, but now that we know about the high fructose corn syrup, it fits. > Hmmm.. your the first that has ever said that they > prefer the taste of > generic over Armour... interesting how we are so > different.. Not much difference to me either, but the Armour does seem to dissolve a little faster. > Hurray for your doc!!! I'll be looking forward to > seeing your labs... *HUMPH* I got the copy of my lab work in todays mail and I just opened it. I am NOT a happy camper. He didn't run the free T4's, he ordered the total. He DID run the free T3, which is *barely* in normal range, and as far as I'm concerned the TSH is still a bit too high. I'm not knocking the meds, I DO feel better than I have been, but I'm still not up to speed, so to speak, and the depression is hitting me harder right now with all the stress going on. He ordered the same dose of meds and follow up on the labs in 6 months. My lab work consisted of: T4 total - 7.5 lab range 4.5 to 12.0 TSH - 2.230 lab range 0.46 to 4.70 Free T3 - 237 lab range 230 to 420 See why I'm not a happy camper? I think when I get my tax refund back, I'm going to find an internist or a DO for my thyroid. Maybe my ENT would work too. I do need to see him to have my ears cleaned out and I can certainly ask him about it then. I WILL have a chat with him about what I'd like to see my levels sitting at when I go see him again and why I'd like a dosage increase. > Another hurray for the weight... when our bodies > work right they don't > want to be over weight.. they don't wont to have to > do the extra work of > hauling it around and maintaining it.... And God knows at almost 430 lbs. I'm hauling around a whole lot I'd like to dump. I'm just glad I'm getting rid of what the bad triglyceride medication gave me. I hope it continues. That's another thing that surprises me he didn't check. That and testing me for diabetes. He said he was going to, but I didn't remind him and then he got off on a tangent about running unnecessary labs, ie: why run them if it isn't going to change the treatment. > I don't have much by way of suggestion with the > pain. Well, since starting the natural, my arthritis hasn't been bothering me as badly and I've managed it ok with OTC meds for the time I've been on the natural. I still have pain sometimes, but not constant aches like I used to have. > I'll be vibing at you... so that the frantic at work > settles down, and > the finances figure them selves out.. in the mean > time have a MERRY > CHRISTMAS. Thanks, things were h*ll tonight, but I'm now officially on a 5 day stretch of continuous days off. I'm doing ok. Now if I could just get my coworkers to pay me what I'm owed, it would be a little better, but at least for now my head is above water. ===== Kathy >^,,^< KitzCat146@... http://www.chaytongroup.com/modernbill/order/index.php?aid=ka081104 http://www.heartwarmers4u.com/members/?kitzcat kitzcat2001 on Yahoo Messenger kitzcat on MSN Messenger In a cat's eyes, all things belong to cats. - English Proverb __________________________________________________
