Guest guest
Hi Everyone, My six year old son is on the spectrum and doing really well. We've done the gamut as far as bio medical treatments and participate in RDI (Relationship Development Intervention) and have seen such great results. He's come a really long way down the road towards recovery and I'd say we're about 85-90% of the way there. A question I still have yet to receive a good concrete answer about is the fact that my son has body odor. Like B.O. under his arms. He smells like a teenager/adult. On side note, he's had this since he was 6-9 months old. Even our DAN doctor hasn't really said why or what might be causing this but it can't be normal or is it? Any thoughts about this and what might be causing it? We still have yeast issues (just got the lab tests back and it is STILL THERE and we know he has some heavy metals still inside as well. Any feedback would be great. Thanks. Marla
Guest guest
My son too!!!!! DAN doesn't really have good answer for me either. Says basically his body is trying to dump toxins and doing so through the pits. I recently read somewhere that if your body is healthy (strong immune system, toxin, bacteria and parasite free etc...) you will not have body oder. My son's oder comes and goes. He can have it all day and then right before he gets in the tub - no oder. Or he might have it several days in a row. Even despite a good pit scrub every night, it will still stink even after a good bath. If anyone knows of anything- i'd love to know too Becky Subject: Body Odor for 6 year old boyTo: mb12 valtrex Date: Thursday, February 18, 2010, 9:52 AM Hi Everyone,My six year old son is on the spectrum and doing really well. Guest guest
Sounds weird -- BUT, thought I would throw it out there... Chlorophyll. If you have stinky pits, foul smelling BM's -- this helps tremendously. I get the pill kind for myself and I get the plain liquid for my son (and I stick it in his juice). NOW -- I will offer this as well. Our kids (ASD) are often high in Copper. A lot of brands add copper to their chlorophyll -- Also, they tend to be derived from allergen foods. (Like Wheat and Barley grass). I use the one derived from Alfalfa. For my son, (he takes a zinc supplement) I use World Organic Chlorophyll (plain) and for myself (because I can swallow pills) I use Nature's Plus - Natural Chlorophyll. (and my husband too when he needs the " green stuff. " ) If I run out for my son, I just open one of mine, and drop it in juice. I do not use it everyday. (although it probably couldn't hurt) -- I use it when we get acrid smells. (I'm pregnant, and smell everything, so I may not be a fair person to make a conclusion about smells.) Ps. Let me know what you decide to do, and post your results. I really look to see what works and what isn't. > > > > Subject: Body Odor for 6 year old boy > To: mb12 valtrex > Date: Thursday, February 18, 2010, 9:52 AM > > > Â > > > > Hi Everyone, > My six year old son is on the spectrum and doing really well. Guest guest
Sweating happens when a child grows up or reached puberty. ASD kids often have high testosterone which makes chelation less effective. Suggest you test the child for "precocious puberty". Guest guest
Have you had his testosterone level checked? It could be Precocious Puberty. Guest guest
We have had his testosterone level checked and it was not out of the ordinary. However, this discussion is making me think that I'm going to request it again. He is very " boy " . Always ramped up, seeking sensory input and very physical (likes to wrestle and rough house). Who knows?.... Thanks everyone for the other suggestions too. We just switched to a new pediatrician who is a D.O. and very knowledgeable on the DAN protocol. I'll have to ask her about some of these other suggestions as she is pretty open and helpful. I'll keep you all posted. -Marla > > Have you had his testosterone level checked?
