My daughter was on Nutramigen for the longest time.At the age of 1, she only weighed a little over 8 pounds and was failure to thrive. She also had severe reflux and had a nissen surgery for that....Any questions you have, please feel free to email me... Good luck with the formula, it can be very challenging... You might try the Pediasure, my daughter wasn't able to handle that, she gagged everytime we put her on it...She finally transitioned over to whole milk around the age of 6..... Guest guest Posted October 19, 2004 Report Share Posted October 19, 2004 Hi- My daughter is nearly 7 yrs old so her experience may be out of date with new medical info. She did best on Nutramigen formula even though, as the dr said, there was no medical reason for a non-allergenic formula to be beneficial. The best med for her was Prilosec. With that and careful positioning, we were able to avoid a Nissen Fundoplication and she outgrew the reflux by age 1.5 yrs or so. Guest guest Posted October 19, 2004 Report Share Posted October 19, 2004 Dylan could not handle the fat content in Pediasure or Nutren Jr - gagged and retched so much that it caused his Nissen to slip and need to be redone.
