Pam here. I just called 's room (they've moved her to room 5106

so her new # is .

Things don't seem to be improving much. A nurse's aide who had been

sent in to do her vital signs was requested by the nurses to stay in

the room with and watch her. Her respiration was 44 (which the

nurse's aide said was bad), her blood pressure was high, she was in

quite a bit of pain. The nurse came in and gave her something

different than the morphine in the PCA, but the aide didn't know what

it was.

She said was sleeping but was extremely restless. A friend had

come by for a while and left. The aide mentioned a sister in Atlanta,

but I didn't understand if she was coming to Durham or what.

Maybe the friend was Katy and she can tell us more later.

I'll try to call back later tonight. The aide said someone new should

be coming in to take vitals anytime now.....

Does anybody know what problems she had in surgery? Have I missed

this discussion? Maybe we need to e-mail Dr. R and get a report. Let

me know if y'all hear anything.

I just called back to 's room. A nurse who came on at 7:00 was

in with her and answered the phone...... is not doing well at

all.....she finally got him to hand her the phone and was BEGGING

someone to come help her......said she had been in surgery twice,

still no better, wanted me to call Dr. R at home, get him to come see

about her........the nurse said he had been in twice this afternoon

and wouldn't be back til tomorrow a.m.....apparently one of the

residents or doctor on call had also been in.....this nurse didn't

know what new medicine the Dr. had ordered and the other nurse

given....He said she was pushing her pain medicine button frequently

and had been dozing.

Her respiration had slowed some from 44, but was picking up again; her

blood pressure was 180/70, that's higher than this afternoon......She

was pleading for help and I didn't know what to tell her....I said we

would try to find out what's going on.....does anybody know?????

My only suggestion for now is for all of us to start praying for

comfort and healing for her.....I really felt bad hanging up, but

didn't know what else to do.....most of the information I got from the

nurse was after handed the phone back to him.......Let me know

what y'all find out.
