Guest guest
Has anyone seen any press coverage on the Boycott the Pumps stuff? I've had something through on email and also seen postings on newsgroups and it seems to be growing - on local radio too so not just the net. Sadly since I never seem to see the 'real' news so don't know how big it is. More at http://www.boycott-the-pumps.com/ FWIW, I'd like to do something - I filled up my car for the first time since before we went to NZ (in between times I've put in odd tenners) and even with a Sainsburys 4p off per litre it came to about 44 quid - first time in my life it has cost me more than 40 quid to fill my car. I even queried it at the desk! When we were in Canada 8 years ago, cigarettes were taxed hugely but very few people bought legal cigarettes - practically everywhere sold cigs smuggled in from the US. Eventually the government was forced to drop the tax but sadly teenage smoking rates increased (apparently other rates were unaffected by the tax changes). Ramble, ramble..... I just wodnered if this boycott is widely known about? -- Sue
