Guest guest
Please look into the research about using HBOT. The protocol that I have read states two dives per day for 40 dives. They have to be at least 4 hours apart for the body to process the O2. Three DAN! docs have told me the same thing and I believe this is also the routine that Dr. Neubrander is using. It’s an intensive treatment and requires a schedule change for most people. I purchased a soft chamber last fall and my son’s been doing 40 dives and then two weeks off.   He continues to improve using it but the results fade after we stop. So, I know that inflammation is an issue for him and that I need to get at what is causing it so the results can last. He asks me to take a dive – he likes the quiet time and feels good afterward!! I believe the only medically approved indication right now is burn victims. However, many stroke patients, autistics, MS, ALS and others are using it for repair. Best of luck.  Heidi J From: mb12 valtrex [mailto:mb12 valtrex ] On Behalf Of Lopriore Sent: Monday, February 15, 2010 10:01 PM To: mb12 valtrex Subject: Re: Anyone who has done HBOT I was told by my doctor that it has to be a minimum of 3 dives per week an hour per dive (that's not including the time it takes to pressure up and then depressurize) 40 dives is the amount that has worked with stroke victims--they use that as an estimate because they are still researching w/autism....less than 40 has worked on some and more than 40 on others. Subject: Anyone who has done HBOT To: mb12 valtrex Date: Tuesday, February 16, 2010, 2:08 AM I live in a small town far from any therapies. What my son gets he gets from the school district and from me at home.... anyway I have recently learned that I could do HBOT about 3 hours away from our home. I have heard not to give up until we try at least 40 dives... My question is this... Will it do us any good to do 2 dives per day for five days then take a week off and again do 2 dives per day for a week and then maybe take a couple of weeks off and do the last set of 20 dives the same way? I have to work to support our recovery efforts and I don't think I can take 2 straight months off -- but I really want to try the HBOT. Has anyone else had to split up the 40 dives like this and still seen a benefit to their child? I have heard this is ok but wanted to see what others had to say.... tia
Guest guest
Thanks for the tip! I purchased one for the home, but she has been sick since the Valtrex is kicking all kinds of stuff up. My doc said it increases congestion so we pulled her out for a while. Why do you take the break? Just because you need one or because of Neubrander? Do you give your child D-Hist before diving?
