Guest guest
Bonnie, I have a few " select pictures " of too. I never thought of " using " them to get " things done " . How funny. Some day in the not so distant future lots of parents of " our younger CHARGE family " will be able to look back on their " select pictures " and laugh as you and I are doing now. Tell Patty that wouldn't think it was funny either. Thanksgiving Blessings to the CHARGE family. Lynn Re: Potty Training Pam, Ha, I knew you would enjoy that one! I was reading your post as I was talking to Kris on the phone and having Patty right here with me. Both girls say- NO, NO, NO, that I can't share those pictures. I even have one of Kris with her foot in her mouth while on the potty. Oh how I can bribe the girls now. Guess I want my kitchen cleaned, laundry done, and what else? Any ideas? Patty says I am just not funny. I'll tell them I just might bring pictures to the conference! Take care, Bonnie
Guest guest
Thanks, Annie.... I have thought about the charges aspect but, truth be told, I have very limited memories (the ones I do have came Dec 2007) and I really don't want to dig up more. Nothing good can come of this... I keep looking at the picture of me and see a blonde girl, smiling, vacant eyes... Lynnette > > > > So I awoke this am and checked my FaceBook. One of my cousins had posted a picture of her and I from when we were kids. I must have been about 10/11, she was 1. This is the tail end of the time period when I was being abused my Nada's live-in boyfriend. I have very limited memories of those years... included the time this picture was taken. > > > > So... while the family is " oohing and ahhhing " and posting precious comments on FB about this pic, I'm looking at it thinking...wow. The norm for the FOO on FB is to now start posting pics of the object d'jour... that would be me. More fun ahead. > > > > In the past this would have send me mentally and emotionally packing for days down a dark and dangerous path... trying to see it for what it was... a picture. > > > > Anyone? > > > > Lynnette > > >
Guest guest
I doubt it will ever be fun, Jackie. I see the other cousins, know what THEIR lives were like, and it makes me so so so so sad. I've heard whispers in conversations, and have had some direct ones, from members of the FOO who knew " something " was going on... who knew that they " should have done more " ... but didn't. Then I see the pictures... " Here , come play.... on a visit... but you're not really ONE OF US. " Thank God for a therapy appt next Monday... Lynnette > > I think it could be fun to see pictures of you when you were younger, since you don't remember it...(nada threw away all of the pictures of the last three kids) just remember this was a long time ago, and what happened to you then will never happen to you again > > > Jackie > > > > So I awoke this am and checked my FaceBook. Guest guest
I have a photo album of pictures from when I was a kid. The last time I looked through them, I was sent into a panic. It took lots of writing and several therapy appointments to get over that. I can't open it unless I'm feeling very strong emotionally. ________________________________ To: WTOAdultChildren1 Sent: Wed, November 18, 2009 12:37:19 PM Subject: Re: Pictures I think it could be fun to see pictures of you when you were younger, since you don't remember it...(nada threw away all of the pictures of the last three kids) just remember this was a long time ago, and what happened to you then will never happen to you again Jackie So I awoke this am and checked my FaceBook. Guest guest
For me, the feelings from that time period all come flooding back at once. ________________________________ To: WTOAdultChildren1 Sent: Wed, November 18, 2009 1:20:19 PM Subject: Re: Re: Pictures really ?? maybe its a good thing nada got pissed at me and threw all the pictures away ( except for her favorite child, and the second born who shared photo albums) I havent seen any pictures of me as a kid since i was in high school jackie I have a photo album of pictures from when I was a kid. Guest guest
Could be and I'm often like that too but sometimes a certain outfit or thing in the background will trigger other memories. ________________________________ To: WTOAdultChildren1 Sent: Wed, November 18, 2009 1:38:48 PM Subject: Re: Re: Re: Pictures interesting. ..when I look at a picture, I only see the exact time/event the picture was taken...maybe thats a safty precaution for me ???
