Guest guest
Very sorry to hear that so much fell on your plate today. Started out bad and got worse. Those are the days I wish I hadn't tried to accomplish anything. When relationships add more burden I know how difficult everything becomes. Really does help to have a support system in place and I hope that being able to speak freely here was of help. Most of us truly do understand how you are feeling. Hoping and praying for quick healing and less pain soon for you. Don't neglect your ankles if swelling persists or gets worse. Sincerely, Jennette Ed wrote: Today is a 8 .5 pain day I fell down steps and hurt my ankles one bad and the other not so. My back been hurting it is the nerve that runs down your leg that is pinched. Guest guest
Hello Ed ... You are a brave one to take on getting blade of mower. I been there, done that and OUCH!!! Wife not talking to you is better than wife giving you tough time with talk. The sciatic nerve thing can be most painful. It pretty well puts me out of commission. This week I dealt with the fibro, enlarged prostate, and a zillion chigger bites. The chiggers were all over me and don'y know where I got them; but they sure got me. Rest, take care, and may God bless you with better days...... donpat Ed wrote: Today is a 8 .5 pain day I fell down steps and hurt my ankles one bad and the other not so. But it is hard to walk I have to be careful. Has to go and change the blades on the lawn mower, had trouble took the deck off so I just killed my arms. Guest guest
hi Donpat and Ed, Ah that lovely word Sciatic, I just love it! NOT! That along with several other painful back/hip/leg problems are really giving me fits lately! Be careful not to agitate that darned Sciatic nerve, it sure gets you back and it bites hard! just had to throw my 2 cents in :-) Ed, you poor thing, I really feel for you, please be careful, you only have one body. Take it easy today, OK? :-) Lay down on your bed or couch for goodness sake or you will not be able to Move at All, please, I have been there. (((((((((((Ed)))))))))))) gentle hugs, Coleen >Ed wrote: Today is a 8 .5 pain day I fell down steps and hurt my ankles one bad and the other not so. Guest guest
Jennette, You got that right about the relationship part. Also, in my situation, 2 people living 24/7 together in chronic pain is No piece of cake either. ug, gentle hugs, Coleen ps. Ed, please take it easy ok? You got me worried sick now. I myself have been sitting at this computer for about an hour and my left lumbar has been giving me fits for a few minutes here so I must give in for now and lay down. I hate how it controls my life instead of me controlling my life. I just don't know how I manage to keep going without losing it. It must be a combination of this very supportive group our 2 cats, and my guy when he is in a good mood, sunshine helps also. Keep smiling everyone! :-)
Guest guest
Hi Ed, You have every right to rant and rave. That's just one of the many reasons we are here. Remember that you are talking to people who go through the same things that you do. I have been sick with PPMS for 5 years but when all of a sudden my husband gets attacked by a horrible disease, I'm ashamed to say I was very mad at him. I became very distant because I felt like he was wanting attention. You would think someone living with chronic pain would be the one that had the most understanding right? Not, I was the least understanding one. Boy did I feel horrible when we found out he had Rheumatory arthritis and COPD topped off with severe gout in his feet and wrist. What really upset me, and please don't look down on me, was the fact that his $4,000.00 a month job was gone. We are now living on my disability and waiting on his, which we all know will be a while. We are really struggling financially right now and that just adds another unneeded strain on things. I guess in a round about way I'm trying to say that any thing added to the already stressed situation seems to turn into a major ordeal. Your wife is probably feeling so many mixed emotions right now and now would be a good time to set down and talk. You need to talk about your health issues, the way she feels and the way you feel, and the biggie FINANCES. Then try to think if there is anyone you could call to help out with the lawn mower and other chores that has to be done but you just don't feel up to doing them. Your wife is probably feeling very overwhelmed and she is thinking, am I going to have to do it all? Communication my friend is the most important thing in any relationship but it's also the one thing we wait way to long to instill into our relationships. It's not nearly as bad as it seems. Together you can get through anything. Rant and rave all you want. We are always here. Take care my friend, Carol (OK) Ee wrote: > Them my Wife hasn't been talking to me this last week. Guest guest
You're welcome, Ed. Don't ya just hate those mornings when you wake up and feel decent? I'm always afraid to move, no doubt that's going to end the nice moments. I rode my bicycle round our " country block " . A couple of miles. Those small inclines about killed me and I'm feeling it already. At one point I just had to get off and walk, I was totally winded. I bit off a bit more than I could chew but it was nice anyway and I'll just take some muscle relaxers and a pain pill if it gets too miserable. I do need exercise while I can still manage it. Got to have strength in those muscles or so I feel. Hate feeling weak. In one respect I'm better, last year this time I could not walk around a big store without stopping to get off my feet and legs and to give my back a rest. In other respects, the neck is getting worse and the mid back is changing my posture. Spine doc said I had bad posture. Oh yeah, tell me something I don't know, but it's not for the lack of trying. It was never like this till the last few months. I can't force bones to line up right if they are out of whack and fracturing. He doesn't know the condition of my back, just my neck. He takes appointments in " sections " . I say he's milking the insurance company. Jennette Ed wrote: Thank you everyone for the support I needed it and it makes things better.
