Speech therapist as an Outpatient supervisor

Hello !

I am seeking help from members regarding few issues

I work in an outpatient facility headed by a speech therapist. Unfortunately at

this time we do not have a PT manager. I am having some problems.

The supervisor has created a lot of pressure on me to assign certain patients to

PTAs. These patients require skills of a PT (manual therapy, acute s/p surgeries

etc ) and none of my PTAs (new grads) have competency in those skills.

Also, PTAs often go outside my Plan of Care without discussing or getting prior

approval.

I am having problems getting the supervisor to understand these issues as she is

a speech therapist. Are there any relevant rules, laws or references that I can

use while discussing these issues with the supervisor ?

Thanks
