Rhonda,

Hi, I'm very new to this list too and I, also, live in Florida. I have been

thinking of this surgery for months and have just been reading all the posts

to see if it's my last resort also. I guess, my biggest fear, is that I will

be rejected by the insurance company (I have CAC United Health Care) and

thus, haven't done anything but ask questions of support lists. I'm in

Orlando, where are you?

Okay gang, I have to share with you all this pictures.. talk about an

inspiration and desire to push harder... I was going to wear this to a

wedding today but no way! This is without stretching the elastic waist out..

and to think, last year at this time it was tight... This is a great feeling

Hello Charmane

I'm Kathy from Alaska (surgery date June 1) and I also have United Health

Care.

Unfortunately the only state that I have heard that United likely to deny is

Florida.

Everyone else using United seems to get approved quickly. I know I did.

It is worth the battle with them to try and get this covered.

Hang in there!

Congrats! I can't wait until I can do this!

Today I went down my first size. Less than three weeks since surgery!

I started at a size 26 Lee Jeans and today my old 24's

hanging in my closet fit (Yippee!!!) Today 26's went into the drawer for

remembrance!!!!

They are the only thing I will keep from this size because they are the

largest that I have ever wore.

Rhonda--

I have cousins in Cordova, where we used to go out at Christmas time and chop

down a fresh tree from one of their fields. It used to be all country. Not

any more. My folks live in midtown on North Parkway, just across the street

from the zoo and College. My kids love to go visit because my dad's

grandparents pass gets all of us in for free.

I agree with this...it is nice to get your primary physician to support you

though. Speeds up the approval process. However, there are always other

primary care physicians....

Never accept the opinion of a family practitioner on a matter concerning

surgery. You need a couple of opinions, maybe three: 2 from surgeons and

one from an ob-gyn.
