Guest guest Posted October 7, 2009 Report Share Posted October 7, 2009 thanks, Rocky started the seizures in june of this year, so we're still working out what works for him...they put him on thyroid replacement after his blood test showed low readings, but since he was put on the thyroid meds, he's had a seizure every 7-10 days...yesterday the vet agreed it could be the thyroid meds causing the seizures too often....Rocky ended up with 4 gm seizures :-( we both are wiped out !! Jackie Oh no, haven't they regulated the meds for your doggy yet? I have an epileptic dog too. We adopted her knowing about it. It's scary, isn't it? I hope you're able to figure out the meds. It took about a year before we were able to completely do away with the seizures. Guest guest Posted October 7, 2009 Report Share Posted October 7, 2009 I totally agree, Annie, my nada is the same way..I was 3 minuts late coming home with the car one day, and I was smacked, and grounded for 2 weeks, when she got home she started in on me again saying how i am disresctful of her and I do this on purpose to hurt her etc...what a head case !! Jackie OK, so nada feels chronically achy. I have a migraine headaches from time to time, but I do not believe that that gives me the right to hit *you* on the head with a hammer if you happen to be near me, so that you will hurt as much as I do. But that is what nadas do. Nadas feel they are entitled to hurt other people's feelings when nada's feelings are hurt (or nada is angry, feeling unloved, disrespected, ignored, etc.) and my nada can flash into anger or hurt at the drop of a pin. Sister is a few minutes late picking nada up, and when Sister arrives nada is both enraged and upset and accuses Sister of being hateful, angry, upsetting her on purpose, etc. Honest to God, all that over being 3 minutes late. And our nada has had these absurd and destructive expectations of us, just like that, our whole lives. Every little thing is a big freaking deal. THAT's precisely what makes nadas so unfit to parent children. Nadas are the opposite of mellow, centered, calm, easygoing, flexible, creative, joyful, curious, nurturing, selfless, confident, and all the other positive qualities that make for " good enough " mothering. If nada feels justified in lashing out like a wounded animal whenever she feels hurt (which is pretty much all the time) instead of behaving like a rational human being, then nada is not mentally healthy (or evolved) enough to be around kids. -Annie Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm still shocked that his seizures started , 2 weeks after his sister died of bone cancer ( she was 8, he is 6 1/2) Jackie Been there. One seizure lasted for 2 hours. To say nothing of their giant feet and the cost of sneakers. We went to the local Greek Festival last weekend - my son ate a lamb sandwich with fries, a full dinner-size Greek salad loaded with feta cheese, most of TWO skewers of souvlaki, a roll, a baklava ice cream sundae, and almost all of a dish full of the little honey-dipped doughnut hole thingies. From 6pm - 12 pm (yes, overnight) they consumed: 2 lg bags of Doritos, 2 2-liters of pop (one each, not enough) 6 HUGE polish sausage dogs with kaiser buns, 1/2 gallon of mint chocolate chip ice cream, 4#'s of strawberries, 2 pints of blueberries, 4 bags of microwave popcorn and a bag of snicker's minis. I made a store run when he got here and it was all gone when I woke up the next morning. And they still wanted a huge breakfast. And by 3pm were both hungry again. It's incredible.
