Guest guest
We are dealing with the same thing with my son. I have no answers and no doctors can help us. I did have a friend that mentioned her daughter did the same thing, and she realized she was giving her daughter crystal light (not something I would give my kid) and that drink made her daughter urinate sometimes 12 times an hour. She stopped that drink and her daughter returned to normal. I have no idea why our son is doing this. I have been eliminating supplements and foods to see if anything is offending. He may also be stressed, as stressful situations can cause it too. We are trying to relax him more. Others will likely have better advice. martha > > My NT child (almost 4 years old) seems to have developed Frequent > Daytime Urination Syndrome (Pollakiuria). Guest guest
My daughter has gone through this every now and then for a few years...(it seems to occur in the exact same months the few times that it happens every year. Doctors always wanted to put her on antibiotics (it showed to be a slight UTI in the past). She is on the cranberry extract supplement from Kirkmans and we have used DMannose (a natural powder supp that you can add to water...doesn't taste like anything) for a few days (if that) and it always gets her urine back to normal. In our case...I am not sure if it is yeast, but I do think that her urine just become more acidic and concentrated certain times of the year. We have been using DMannose for over a year now. Highly recommend it. (our local compounding pharmacy had it, but you can get it on iherb.com for very reasonable.) Guest guest
PANDAS is sensitive to timeing of test, so if you test to soon or to late for your childs spike you won't have the spike show to prove it. we learned that one the hard way with our son, we found he spiked 6 weeks after symptoms appeared ] Re: Re: OT - Frequent Daytime Urination Syndrome or Pollakiuria our son does the same. he also has some OCD tendencies, but tested negative for PANDAS. hmmm..Sent from my iPhone On Feb 12, 2010, at 1:04 AM, "healme42" <4usyoungsatt (DOT) net> wrote: We are dealing with the same thing with my son. Guest guest
Hi, my son (asd) had the same issue until I discovered that I was giving him a lot of foodw with high oxalates (such as nuts, spinach, and so forth). I put him in the LOD and now he has no problems with urination. Only at nighttime is where I'm still struggling but that is more liveable. I was like you, I could take him every 20 minutes and his pull up would be wet already!!! you might want to check her foods and see if they are high in oxalates (frequent urination is a symptom of that). Hope this helps fina > > My NT child (almost 4 years old) seems to have developed Frequent > Daytime Urination Syndrome (Pollakiuria). I value everyone's suggestions and it helps to know we're not the only ones going through this. Guest guest
i agree with testing for diabetes. my son has freq urin but in our particular case, the issue is half meds and half the fact that he is constip and when he bares down, has leakage. he was tested for diab and it was neg as well as any other urinary tract issues. i feel once the gut issues are cleared up, that will resolve itself too. vicki OT - Frequent Daytime Urination Syndrome or Pollakiuria My NT child (almost 4 years old) seems to have developed Frequent Daytime Urination Syndrome (Pollakiuria).
