hi, just a quick update. Tim is doing well in school, talked with his teacher

yesterday. very distractable--nothing new there. they want to get a personal

aide for him--basically to keep him focussed etc. talked with the ot and we are

brushing him at home before school after and after dinner and before bed--more

often when he is home all day. wants to start it at school, but wants to wait

until he has his aide. am hoping the brushing will help w/ behaviors at home.

went to the orthodontist-he wants to see us in a year, wants him to grow more

and lose more baby teath before we talk about the expander. :) got orthoics

adjusted--our share will be a mere $600 after the insurance--that's 20% of the

bill. thank god we have good insurance!! this is the 2nd set this year.

he is enjoying cub scouts so far, had a pack meeting last week den mtg tonight

and a camp out Sat. night--all 4 guys are going, I get a night to myself. of

course will have to pick up tim and keegan for ccd sunday am....

a busy week-end here, keegan has a soccer game @ 8:30 sat am, then liam's party

1-3 at the pumpkin patch--pray for no rain, and camping starts @4. were having

liam's party next sat., but the place had 5 feet of water in it--so they aren't

ready for some reason :). well, have a great week-end, I'm off to pick up a

fundraiser--it's starting already, and then to get the boys---friday , no

homework!!!!

Bonnie,

what the heck is a " Functional Cognitive Emotional Assessment " ? Did they say

exactly what this is and who would do it?

This is a NIGHTMARE!! I have never heard of this. I am going to ask some

questions tomorrow--will let you know what I find out (if anything).

Hello,

I noticed alot of posts during the day and i'm not here until after

6pm after work to check posts. I'm not online in the morning before

work just letting you know if I don't answer in the daytime except

weekends. I'm still in MD, well..with the toddlers they don't listen

to me, so the head teachers have to get them to stop or SHHH get them

to behave. The toddlers think I'm just their " playmate " . Some do

listen to me while 2 dont and get upset. Teacher think I upset him

but really I didn't know how to handle it. 7 1 year olds kids...they

hit, have a fit and a temper. I love them when they are behaving and

get on my lap for a book. Nobody knows I have charge, so I have to

explain that I don't have estrogen and I'm always HOT!! I have hot

flashes all day and always hot while people are opposite. When they

want heat on I get really hot as my hot flashes goes higher. I still

wear short sleeveless shirt in the wintertime inside, but not outside

and can't stand heated cars. Are hot flashes also part of charge who

don't have estrogen?? There are medicine for it but heard it's

dangerous for the health as it can increase heart attacks or

strokes.better get to bed good nght.

be back to read posts 6pm wed. night.

Pam,

To me this is the same old battle. They want to know if Patty is " safe " to

ride by herself. I think someone still wants to put a limit on her functional

abilities. Something similar to this kind of happened when Patty was getting

evaluated by Work Inc. The person there was fabulous but Patty's coordinator

for the Blind continually was talking to her about Patty having a neuro psych

done. I got that creepy feeling. I gave her one of those wonderful reports,

you know, the very last psych eval Patty had by an exceptional evaluator, and

suddenly that topic got put away.

I think there is someone somewhere saying or trying to prove that Patty

doesn't have the functional mental abilities. I want to know whose hand is in

the

pot, and boy there are too many pots out there. Smells fishy to me.

Patty completed O and M which was done by a person sent from the Carroll

Center who was hired by Mass Commission for the Blind. He said Patty had great

skills and didn't need more training until she moves. She graduated and yet

where is that report? It went to the commission I suppose. I've asked Mitch

for

it.

We all know Patty has the functional cognitive abilities to be able to use

the ride. Duh! Isn't this illegal? The doctor from CT doesn't do this he

said. Patty's doctor in MA doesn't have enough information.

Again, smells fishy. I am tried of this stupid battle. It seems I have to

fight again against an inappropriate restrictive label for her. It makes me

irritated.

And so the saga goes.

We're off tonight to attend the community colleges disability awareness and

programing placement meeting. Wish her luck. She is ready to go and it is an

hour from now!

Take Care,

Bonnie
