Guest guest
Well hello my MSers!! I see I've missed so much!! Welcome all the new members and hugs to everyone!!! I just wanted to give yall a quick update on what's going on with me. I had a check up with my new neuro 2-3 weeks ago, while we bothed agreed to wait on trying Tysabri to see if I can manage my symptoms a little better, I had some complaints about my eyes. He prescribed Topamax and sent me to do some lab tests. One test came back with some questions so today I'm going to see a hematologist (spelling?) The neuro's nurse suggested they were looking at a number of things, lupus being one of them. I don't know if I mentioned before, but my mom also has lupus. This week I'm up to the full Rx for the Topamax and the side effects have been rough, but I hope it's helps. Right now my periphrial (ok I can't spell today) vision is weird..like those optical illusions you see where it looks like spirals moving? It's been like that for awhile and sometimes it's like a strobe light mostly in my right eye. All of my symptoms are on my right side anyway, but it would nice to fix ONE thing!!! It's been a crazy couple of months in my life besides dealing with the ups and downs of having MS. Mike and I became Godparents to a chubby litte boy named , Mike has started his City League basketball games for the 7th or so year in a row, we're attempting to work on our house....key word here is " attempting " LOL. We've ripped up carpet and I have all these visions of what I want to do, but so far it's just visions..but we will get there! I finally got my disability approved (woohoo!!) which couldn't have came at a better time. Mike and I were arguing about money, he was working so much overtime and our car broke down so it was such a blessing to have some stress relieved. I'm looking foward to the holidays coming up and praying that I have the energy and ability to do everything I want to do. I love this time of year and it seems like this has been a time for me to reflect on what's really important in life and what I've been able to conquer and I've surprised myself. Oh, my babies are doing well...Quincy the dog is getting so big and spoiled!! He's such a lover and he's getting such a funny personality. My Miss Kitty Olivia is still queen of the house and our boy kitty Oliver is now living with Mike's twin and his family. (And becoming fat and lazy LOL). With that I will let you all go, I think of you guys all the time and I hope you all are doing well! I will try to get on here again as soon as I can....I got a MSers fix now, so I can't go long without another one!! LOL Much love!! I hope you don't have Lupus on top of MS! I'll keep my fingers crosssed for you on that one. How is your mom doing with her Lupus? How does it affect her?Don't stay away so long the next time!hugs))Sharon This email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
Hi Andi~ Thanks for checking in with us. I do hope you don't have Lupus. But, I can see why your Dr. might want to rule it out with your mother having it (I'm so sorry), and also the similarities in MS symptoms. Did your Dr. give you Topamax because of the pain associated with your eye trouble? Or do you think he thinks that the eye problem may be do to migraines? I'm just wondering because the symptoms you describe sound a lot like symptoms that are associated with migraines. But, then again, I'm not a doctor. I'm just me, someone who is a migraine sufferer and used to take Topamax for that issue. Congrats to you about your new Godson! I just know he's going to be blessed to have y'all as Godparents. Also, congrats on getting disability! I am very happy for you. I am happy when anyone is deservingly approved of their disability. I know how hard it is to get it. I've been trying on and off since 2000 to get mine. I feel it coming real soon though. Very soon. I'm thinking of you and lifting you and yours... Guest guest
Hi Val! I believe that my dr. gave me the Topamax to help with pain for my eyes and yes he did think that it could've been caused by migraines, but we've ruled that out. I actually saw an oncologist this past Monday and he thinks that my problems are related to blood clots and had me do some more lab tests, which I won't know the results from for 2 weeks or so. He also said that he thinks I have Lupus something something (it's a big word I can't think of right at the moment) and that means I have a tendency to have blod clots, so he reccommended that I take aspirin everyday. He didn't seem to concerned, but I am!! I guess I'll just continue to take things one day at a time! But it doesn't seem to be ACTUAL Lupus, so that's good...Sometimes I think I'm not asking the right questions or I'm too accepting of what the dr.'s say, but for now I will squint my eye like Popeye, stay away from Tae-bo, and continue to try to make face twitching a " new fad " ! Guest guest
Andi~ LOL. I have that eye twitching thing myself. I have been accused unjustly of flirting more than once. It gets worse when I sneeze or yawn. I don't know why. I think I'd be a little concerned too if I had heard the words blood clots and Lupus in the same visit. Questions would be flying out of my mouth! I hope when you get the lab results back, they won't show anything bad. If they do, I hope it's something that can be treated. I'm lifting you! Have a great weekend.. Guest guest
My concern with aspirin is that tummy's don't like them - it also thins the blood. Topomax does work to get rid of migraines. There is a test to rule out Lupus, RA, and fibro - you rule out lupus and RA and get fibro. course it could show the lupus Sharon where am I going with this - isn't it predominant in some part Re: Just Poking My Head In To Say Hi Hi Val!I believe that my dr. gave me the Topamax to help with pain for my eyes and yes he did think that it could've been caused by migraines, but we've ruled that out. Guest guest
Keep up the good work on the new fad creating! LOLOL Yeah, blood clots would concern me, too. Waiting for results doesn't seem okay, does it? LOL Are you taking your aspirin?? Errr... I've told your Tae-Bo story to so many people now! It was a great story for around the camp fire at our Family Camping Trip the end of September. As everyone's asking "how'd you do it" (the skinny creep), and he talks of Tae-Bo among other things. And I tell the story of my friend who tried Tae-Bo and everyone laughs and howls and says "that'd be me!" But I never mentioned your name. ROFLMHO Hugs, Challis Re: Just Poking My Head In To Say Hi Hi Val!I believe that my dr. gave me the Topamax to help with pain for my eyes and yes he did think that it could've been caused by migraines, but we've ruled that out. But it doesn't seem to be ACTUAL Lupus, so that's good...Sometimes I think I'm not asking the right questions or I'm too accepting of what the dr.'s say, but for now I will squint my eye like Popeye, stay away from Tae-bo, and continue to try to make face twitching a "new fad"!Much love!Andi Jo> > > Well hello my MSers!!
