Guest guest
Hi All! Here I am, back to asking questions again! Post-opers, any feedback you can give would be greatly appreciated. At 6 weeks, I knew I would not be " discomfort-free " , but am not quite sure what a good pain is vs. a bad pain. Not in enough discomfort to call the surgeon, but wondering if what I'm feeling sounds normal to other post-opers. Very painful yawns, in the area where the upper and lower jaws meet at the joints, right below the ear. Normal? Can't shift my lower jaw from the left side to the right (not instructed to exercise yet so I'm sure it's atrophied muscles), but can shift it from the right to the left. When I do this, I feel a sort of " tugging " at the right jaw gum line (definitely not a facial muscle sensation). I'm a bit concerned it's a plate or unhealing bone problem. Since I can't shift my jaw in the other direction, I can't compare to see if I have the same feeling on the other side. Anyone have this sensation? When I asked the surgeon pre-op what the #1 biggest complaint of post-opers, he said " muscle spasms " . ly, I'm embarrassed to say that I don't know what a muscle spasm feels like, so I'm not sure if that's what I'm having. Any info would be helpful and much appreciated! Irish!
