A mild emollient cream is the best idea. Unless the open areas are

obviously infected (pus is visible or the redness extends from the

wounds a bit more than irritation would suggest), I would stay away

from antibiotic creams and ointments. If it stings on application,

don't use it. And cover with a telfa bandage or leave open to heal.
