It is usually safer and wiser to do the new

total knee replacement--for all kinds of reasons.

If you are in doubt, do what I do--I have Medicare.

Get a new orthopedic surgeon. Mine, who was

the very best has since died, leaving me unable to

clone him and send him to you!

The age thing comes in because the knee replacements will only last a certain number of years and can be redone only once. My neighbor had her first knee replacement fail after the first year. She worried a lot with the second replacement that something would go wrong.
