Guest guest
Acidolphilus- you can get it at any herbal store. In the refridgerated section. The other stuff isn't worth the money. You want those good bacteria alive! S. Mom to 5 Re: Thrush >From: Feb98@... > >In a message dated 3/9/99 6:00:30 AM Central Standard Time, HHamer1810@... >writes: > ><< Not everyone . Guest guest
I just bought some baby-lac (I think that is the name) It is powder. How do I give it to since the instructions say to put in formula bottle and he does not get any formula or bottles (YEAH) He has no signs of thrush but I am being treated for it with Nizoral. We have battled off and on for 11 weeks. I get better and it comes back. I am only slightly sore. I have modified my diet, do not pump so I do not need to boil, do not wear a bra. Can I take the same stuff as he is and how do I take it. It really stinks. Guest guest
, Another tip is only buy a product that has one culture. If there are more than one culture in the product, the cultures end up digesting each other and causing it to be much less effective. If you want to take more than one culture, buy them separately and you can take them together. Acidophilus is one and Bifidus is another. Guest guest
It sounds like its cleared up on its own. I've had thrush a couple of times after antibiotics, and if you have it, you really know about it! >Does anyone know anything about thrush? I just had the results of a smear >back that say I had it when the smear was taken about 5 weeks ago (!) and I >was itchy with a discharge for a couple of days on holiday but since then >have been absolutely fine
Guest guest
i get it occasionally and mostly it just goes away by itself......bio yoghurt is supposed to be good but i have only ever eaten it, seems far too messy to put the other end!! Apparently you are supposed to soak a tampax in it or something, have a search on the web, you will find loads! Anyway, I had it really bad after I had to have two ERPC's after my first missed miscarriage. I called the doctor but he said i could only have the cream because of the procedure i had just had and to be honest the cream was useless it did nothing. I had it while we were away on holiday and it was awful, I was so itchy it was unbearable but all I could do was keep applying the cream and eventually it went. The pessaries are supposed to more effective than the cream from what I have heard. I have occasionally had the symptoms since but they never last very long. Cotton underwear is good or none atall!! Let the air get to it!!! Sorry, this is getting rather explicit! > prescribed some pessaries but I'm resluctant to use things if I don't need > to and I know they are not terribly effective - the orals are better but > she won't prescribe those unless for people who have persistant thrush > (actually I think its cos they are more expensive). Guest guest
: The pessaries are supposed to more effective than the >cream from what I have heard : They get it sorted in about 12 hours, but a really gritty. Funny story. Years ago I went on holiday with a girlfriend and she got thrush and we spent ages in a spanish supermarket looking for bio yogurt. Hard when spanish limited to " dos cervezas por favor " . Thought we had the right stuff, but when she opened it I think it was black cherry - big lumps of fruit, definitely not for spooning up your daisy! I have occasionally had the symptoms since but You can get a canesten treatment which inccludes a tube of stronger cream (2%?) and a sort of syringe plunger. You fill the plunger and squish it up your you know what. As I have a congenital prolapse, this works where pessaries just get pushed back down again. Incidentally, I had recurrent thrush in my 20s, but hardly ever get it now (touch wood). I think a major factor is I never take a bath (smelly thing). Showers are much more healthy re thrush. Guest guest
Just to clear up a minor point, yes Ray is my DH and yes it was vaginal thrush I was talking about and I might just check his tongue for white spots anyway!! I think as I'm symptomless now I might just leave it be and eat lots of low fat Bio yoghurt! Lesley
