, I can't think of anything that BPA would stand for. The only thing I can

come up with would be something like CPA which is clear to percussion and

auscultation. Hope you really enjoyed that weekend. Sorry you had to come

home, Margaret

Oh, dear, I should not have returned home from our wonderful weekend in the

land of the Redwoods in California!

I have a new doctor, who has decided to try my NEW call-in digital system I

purchased from Jay Vance, Dial Dictate. I am having trouble getting used to

it after using tapes all these years and the sound quality is very poor.

That is another story.

This is a doctor who has been working in ER med for a long time and is now

opening a private practice. I have never done hospital dictation. I am not sure

what he is giving under the chest exam. He said s/l BPA. It is not listed in my

abbreviations. Thanks!

Maybe BPH for benign prostatic hypertrophy. Try listening for that.

I'm wondering if he might be say " PBA " , in which is " pressure breathing

assisted " per Stedmans Abbreviations, though just a guess.

I did find under BPA in ' Medical Abbreviations, " birch pollen allergy. "

This might be more like it.

Could it be IPPA? I have a doc who dictates this.

IPPA (inspection, palpation, percussion, and auscultation)
