Hey guys,

Long time no see! Well, I got a bad cough here ever since I went to the beach

with 1 of my deaf friend, , last Saturday. And, I guess it wasen't that warm

outside, and the water wasen't warm enough either, right? But, that what made my

cough worst, right? I did had a cough, but it wasen't that bad (like it is now),

cuz I got it from the cold air conditioner on the bus, sigh! Even mostly during

the Winter Times, or any other cold places I go, I tend to get sick with a bad

cough, sigh! (yeah, too many sigh here, lol)

Why do I always keep getting sick in any cold places I go, and in the Winter

Time? Some people tells me that I got a low Immune System. My Immunity isn't

that high/powerful, so I guess I do get easily sick during cold weather and in

any cold environment. Is that true? Is this common for most CHARGErs, or is it

just me? Have you guys got any experience with it?

Whenever I get a bad cough from a cold, it won't go away, great! Then, I

easily developed bronchitis (yep, happened several times before), and I had to

take some antibiotic pills, to get rid of this nasty cough. Well, I didn't go to

the doctor, cuz I have to work in the morning. But tmw afternoon, I'm planning

on going to see a doctor, about some antibiotic pills, right guys?

I guess my body is not used of cold weather/environment. Even on the bus,

sometime when the bus driver put the A.C. too low, I always shrivel/shake inside

my jacke, and I never wear shorts to my work, cuz I always knew that any buses I

go on, will always have the a.c., and I would freeze up, sigh! Am I the only one

who get easily cold, and get easily sick? Or, is this normal?

I had some chicken broth, been taking some cough medicines, and also cough

drops. I hope that I'll get better soon, alright? It's even hard for me to sleep

too! What should I do to get better, and get rid of this annoying cough? Type

back soon, thanks!

Coughin' Chipper (yeah, still coughing here,

lol!)

Hi Chipper,

I'm so sorry to hear you are sick. that's no fun.

You must be on the right track about the cold weather. It must stress your

system a lot. For one thing, you are on the thin side, so there is less fat to

pad you against the cold. kendra is similar and she must always take a sweater

when air conditioners are too cold - like inside grocery stores or restaurants

or movie theaters. But wow how interesting it was so cold for you last weekend.

Here it was in the 100's, and we are not far from you.

Before we moved to sunny California, Kendra was sick a lot more often. She was

on antibiotics many times each year. Sometimes even 5 times a year. Now that we

live here and the sun shines so much and she is outside in the sunshine, she has

only needed a couple of antibiotics in the last 5 years.

If people are on antibiotics, it is very important to consider taking probiotics

like acidophilus. the reason is that the antibiotic can kill some of the 'good'

germs inside your stomach and your system. That means that the 'bad' bugs or

germs that make you sick can multiply and take over more of your system. Health

food stores and Henry's Market and Whole Foods carry acidophilus and probiotics.

Eating organic food helps the body to be strong and to fight illness. Some

people are very sensitive to the preservatives or pesticides in many foods. It

makes sense because preservatives keep things from growing. Aye Carumba! Yes,

you do want to keep bad germs from growing - true, but you don't want to keep

your cells from growing at the same time.

Sometimes problems with the immune system or the thyroid can result in people

getting sick or being extra cold. Not all tests actually give a clear picture

of if there is a problem with the immune system or the thyroid.

Getting good, fresh air and good sunlight and plenty of walking and exercise

generally help the immune system. Vitamin D is vital to health and because many

people spend an inordinate amount of time inside, they do not get adequate

stores of it from the sunlight. Remember that wearing sunglasses can affect how

your eyes take in the light and how the light affects your system.

Keep eating that chicken soup and add garlic if you like. garlic does help some

people be more healthy.

Get well soon Chipper! :-)
