Guest guest
FT3 & FT4 not sure ... checking to see if the dr ran them in dec last year - - waiting for dr's nurse to call me back. Once a day I take 175mcg levoxyl which I've been on since 12/8/03 Prior to thatI was on 175mcg of generic synthroid. All the dr has persrcibed is the levoxyl. I have'nt taken my temp, I just know I'm cold alot in the day & hot at night when I go to bed. I have never slept good, even as a child. I try to, but Lots of times im ful off one meal, even if it is a small meal. Other " non persricption Items " I take Calcuim , Multi Vitamins, Replenex(joint repair & arthritis) & apre- menopause vitamin - - All Ive been taking for almost two months > > > > > > I have so much I need to do but I cant seem to get going. > > My mind is pretty foggy to say the least, just typing this is > taking > > a major amount of concentration. Guest guest
Hi Crystal, Sorry to hear that you are not feeling so good today. Just checking, are you taking your meds first thing in the am with water? And not taking any calcium vits for at least 4 hours after that? Also are you staying away from the goitrogens? From what I understand when you are hot at night and not sleeping it is to do with the adrenals, are you taking anything to help them? As for the eating even if you only eat a little at mealtimes and a snack in between. I usually eat 4-5 brazils in the mid-morning [this also helps with the conversion of the meds] and in the mid-pm I eat a grapefruit. I find that these also help with going to the loo and I find that I am now eating a lot better now that I know. Hope that you are feeling better soon. Guest guest
I take my meds at about 4:30 in the evening, I tried in the morning before I felt horrible all day. I take my calcium first thing in the am. I am going to have to get to the store & get some of those brazil nuts and give them a try. Guest guest
First, repeat after me.... I am not alone. I am not crazy. I can learn how this works. I have a WHOLE BUNCH of folks that understand AND are WILLING TO HELP! got that???? Questions: How long have you been on your current dose? How much is it? What is it - natural or synthetic? When are you taking it? Are you eating regularly, every 3 to 4 hours minimum? Are you avoiding soy (and the other goitrogens) and caffeine? Are you keeping regular sleeping hours? Guest guest
Hi Crystal, Your estravel has 75mg of soy?????? Soy not good for us with thyroid probs can you get something that doesn't have it? If you check any of the foods that you buy you will find that there is soybean oil in just about everything so that is multiplying what you are taking. I was eating 12 grain bread that has the heart symbol on it and one of the main ingredients is soybean oil, so now I make my own bread and soon will be making my own salad dressings. Since I stopped eating that stuff I am begginning to feel better, so maybe if you stop the estravel you might feel little better. Hope it helps, and call on us whenever you are feeling down cause that is what we are here for. I know that I feel so much better knowing that you and the other girls are there and you know how I feel on my bad days. Have a better day than yesterday Dawn > > First, repeat after me.... Guest guest
Hi Crystal, I'd be checking your rising basal temp... If you have been on the same dosage for over a year, I'd be looking for a possible increase...depending upon how you FEEL over a week/month or so...and an average of your rising basal's as well. I recently read that if the rising basal is very close to 98.0 then the body is getting just about what it needs...however, if it is below this than the Thryoid dose may need adjusting upwards. Or the Adrenals are exhausted...(I wish I could find that article...it has to be in only three different places...I'll find it one of these days....grumble) I am also suspicious of your Adrenals...being hot at night and cold during the day might be a sign that it is taking all day for your adrenals to catch up with your bodies needs. I take NutriMeds Adrenal support for this very reason...One tablet first thing in the morning just before breakfast and I am warm for the day and my body sleeps like a log at night. Your vitamin regiment looks pretty good...is there Iron in there somewheres? Also, you might consider adding a Stress level B Complex to give your body more Folate, B6 and B12 which our Thyroid bodies tend to use up very quickly... In your eating habits, are you more a carb person or a herbivor person or a protein person or a mixture of all?? For me, I find I do better when I stay away from easy carbs and all simple sugars. Guest guest
My vitamins have 10mg B6, 20mcg B12, 18mg Iron. The pill that has the soy has helped me with the perimenopause problems I was having. Ive been on it for about a month. *blushes* I am a carb person, but I have cut backon my carb intake 5 weeks ago when I started my diet. which also when I gave up coffee. I am going to see about maybe changes on my med & vitamins schedule. I've been taking my levoxly in the early eve when my son takes his, he liked making sure his mom took her meds when he took his. I took my vitamins earlier today than normal today so that the calcium wouldn't cause problems with the levoxyl. I guess Im going to have to play around with the times to see what works for me. Thank you everyone for the support Crystal > > > > FT3 & FT4 not sure ... checking to see if the dr ran them in dec > last > > year - - waiting for dr's nurse to call me back. > > > > Once a day I take 175mcg levoxyl which I've been on since 12/8/03 > > Prior to thatI was on 175mcg of generic synthroid. > > > > All the dr has persrcibed is the levoxyl. > > > > I have'nt taken my temp, I just know I'm cold alot in the day & > hot > > at night when I go to bed. > > > > I have never slept good, even as a child. > > > > I try to, but Lots of times im ful off one meal, even if it is a > > small meal. > > > > > > Other " non persricption Items " I take > > Calcuim , Multi Vitamins, Replenex(joint repair & arthritis) & apre- > > menopause vitamin - - All Ive been taking for almost two months
