I put the Beach Boys on but surely didn't expect what was right around the corner for me. Just a few minutes ago I received an e-mail from the SC Gift of Life Trust Fund. Because of my interest and willingness to write letters, make phone calls, send e-mails, etc., they've asked me to become a member of their advisory board!!!! I tell you, this sent an already wonderful day just shooting right over the moon! I'm so excited and delighted that I'm just utterly beside myself! This feeling of being useful is pretty heady stuff! :-D Oh yeah, I'm hanging ten and riding high above cloud nine!! Carolyn B. in SC

Guest guest
For more info about South Carolina's Gift of Life Trust Fund, go to: http://www.giftoflife-sc.org/ Quoting from the website: " The Gift of Life Trust Fund (GLTF) is dedicated to promoting organ and tissue donation throughout South Carolina and to providing assistance to transplant patients and their families. Through our public education and advocacy efforts, GLTF strives to ensure that every South Carolinian in need of a vital organ or tissue transplant will be able to receive this gift through the unselfish donation of people in their communities. " This is the group I contacted last week to inquire what would need to be done to get Organ Donor license plates made available in SC. They urged me to write my legislative delegation (which I'm doing -- and not just our locals but every single state legislator (170 of 'em) in the state of SC. They sent me bumper stickers, magnets, donor cards, and put me on their newsletter mailing list. I wrote them this morning about the article in our newspaper and also to tell them of a website which mentions (SC) Gift of Life, but didn't have a hot link to the (SC) Gift of Life website. The result was their invitation for me to join their Advisory Board! I'm still bounding through the clouds with delight!!
