If you make SURE the liquid is acidic (tart, sour) it should be OK.

It has to be pretty distinctly tart for this to work. You can use

vinegar or acid form vitamin C to acidify it. .. . . . . . . . .. .

If you use vinegar it needs to be a lot, like a tablespoonfull per

cup.
