Guest guest Posted June 4, 2010 Report Share Posted June 4, 2010 Yes, although your levels of B12 might show normal or high, it does not mean that your the mehtyl b12 levels are the same. homecysteine levels will be elevated when there is a need for mb12 and depending on your markers you will need either folic or folinic acid to go along with. Depending on your COMT status , you should know what type of B12 you should use , (COMT- - Methyl B12) COMT + + hydroxy B12) COMT + - needs a VDR overview for type of B12. If you have done the Yasko testing you should be able to look up the SNP on the genes and see which one is needed.
