Guest guest
Hi,May i know wht is the different between HHV6 and Herpes Simplex ?Regards,To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Tuesday, May 18, 2010 19:28:11Subject: Re: Viruses (Herpes Simplex) Laurin, If he hasn't already, ask your doc about running blood tests for you to confirm. My son has the exact same issue. He was dxed at age 3 and is now 6 but I recently found out through blood tests the he has a Herpes Simplex I infection. I didn't know til now . Herpes virus invades the nervous system, clusters in the nerve endings and can infect the brain esp. the temporal lobe areas which are associated with language. Herpes has been linked to Alzheimers. My son is on low dose Valtrex and so far it does seem to help. He's talking more and even started drawing which he was never interested in before. If you do run blood tests you may want to check all herpes types and run titres for other viruses like lyme, rubella , measles while your at it. hth, From: Laurin <laurinflowers@ yahoo.com>Subject: Viruses (Herpes Simplex)To: mb12 valtrex@ yahoogroups. comDate: Monday, May 17, 2010, 11:53 PM My daughter is 3 years old and has still not been diagnosed with ASD. Her speech is severely delayed and she has some stimming issues. Last year she came down with Bell's Palsy (paralysis on one side of her face) for a few weeks. The doctor said that she most likely had Herpes Simplex and he had never seen Bell's Palsy in someone so young. She has been sick at least once every two months since she was born. . Has anyone been through a similar situation?? Does she seem like an ideal candidate for Valtrex?? We are going to see our DAN doc this Thursday and I am wondering if we should try to pursue this with him.

Guest guest
My son was sick for the first 3 ears of life until we started on antivirals/antifungals. There was not one month that he didn't have bronchitis. We also had him on Erythromycin for a year. I would say that yes, you should start Valtrex.
