Then you can skip the magnesium.

More is unlikely to hurt and he may need higher than normal amounts.

That is a reason to skip them.

magneisum, yes. B's are often pushed way way high because some people

can't use them very well. It sounds like B's are not a problem for

your son so you can skip them - and always skip things that make him

worse - and use the C and milk thistle alone.

> Many thanks

You're welcome..

Hi...I have been lurking on this board on and off for maybe two yrs

and it seems quite ridiculous to me that I haven't actually started

to chelate my 5 yrs old autistic son. I guess I am a true

procrastinater! I have decided to try to get started here and would

like to know how to prepare his little body for chelation and how to

if/how to begin. He was on gf/cf diet for two years with excellant

results and now attends an inclusion kindergarten where he is has

friends, reads, adds etc. Slowly but surely over the last year, we

slacked on the diet and now is completely off the diet. He takes no

vitamins/supplements because I just can't get them into him. He is

slightly anemic and we're trying to get iron in him now and it is

hell! Lately he seems way more autistic...again off the diet so we are

trying enzymes....but I have to admit that I am not good with being

consistant. Sorry this is getting long-winded. Anyway, my questions

are; 1. Should I chelate before going back to gf/cf diet, or is it

better for them to be already gfcf? 2. Being anemic, is he ready to

try chelation? 3. Can I jump right in or should he have all the

metal tests done? With all the reading I've done I should know the

answers to these questions but I am very overwhelmed! Thanks for any

help.....rita

GFCF or enzymes are good to keep yeast and other problems down, altho

they are not absolutely necessary for all kids.

He might be anemic BECAUSE of high metals in other areas, so you might

never get over the anemia until you remove the other metals. But you

will need to supplement with minerals he is lacking.

I have never done any testing, but you can if you want or you believe

it is necessary.

Hello Evan,

Well, it is your call, you could do it either way.

My personal opinion is that the hair test is a really good

idea, unless there is a real financial consideration.

(it costs $40 to $80 depending how you have it done.)

In many cases the hair test will not tell you anything

particularly critical. BUT in some cases it is VERY

VERY important information. For example, if your child

happens to be copper toxic and NOT mercury toxic. Well,

the symptoms look a lot alike, the sort of chelation

one would do for mercury (if you were guessing that that

is the problem!) will NOT help reduce copper (and may

make it worse!)

best,

Moria

p.s. how long to work on the gut is also an open issue.
