Hi,

I'd love to hear opinions about what various MTs think are the easiest

specialties to transcribe. Radiology? OB/GYN? Chiropractic? Your input,

please! :-). (If anyone says acute care I'm gonna' have to call you a

big, fat liar! LOL!)

Thanks so much!!

I'm gonna have to go with outpatient Psychology on this one. No drugs, hardly

any terminology whatsoever. It's like typing little short stories : )

(Now, if you ask me which is hardest ... in my opinion it's gotta be radiation

oncology).

Now that really makes me feel stupid! I have recently started OB/GYN and

find it difficult because of all the new terminology! I also thought

dermatology was very difficult because of all the lab involved.

I think internal medicine is NOT easy because you have to know a little

about everything.

The easiest one for me is psychiatric. I have a clinic with a psychiatrist

and counselors. It is VERY interesting, so it goes pretty quickly. This is

what I started with way back when.

For easiest I'd say Ob/Gyn, because the focus is fairly narrow, or maybe

internal medicine.

For the hardest, I'd vote for hematology (which I like anyway) or orthopedic

surgery.

, I do acute care, so I know that's not the easiest, especially since it's

not a specialty, it incorporates most of the other specialties. Now, with that

said, I believe the easiest would be ENT and GI, but remember I have never

actually worked in a clinic doing a specialty. I think the most interesting is

Psych, which is actually where I got my beginning, working in a psychiatric

inpatient/outpatient facility. Margaret

I haven't answered yet because I'm still trying to decide. I started out in

cardiology.. it was tough till I learned the lingo. Now when I get cardiology

reports I love them.. probably because I'm pretty familiar with the terminology.

I've also done pulmonary, OB/GYN, plastic surgery, ophthalmology (now there was

a toughie!!!), radiology, GI.. that one's not too bad... emergency.. which is

definitely interesting :) I've also done podiatry... that was interesting, and

hem/onc. I liked that one, but learning all the drugs was a challenge.

I think most any specialty is easy once you learn the lingo and specific

terminology, although I think infectious disease and hem/onc can be extra

difficult. JMHO.
