It never hurts to change checking account numbers every year or so,

and they can print you up temporary checks; just have them start where

the last one left off, or at least at over 1,110, so no one thinks that it is

a brand new account. Ditto debit cards and credit cards.

I know it's stupid.

I never looked at the statement very close. I ended up seeing it online, when I signed up for banking online. Yes, I can be an idiot sometimes.

I guess I just have been living so close to the bone that I can't even imagine not noticing that amount missing from my available funds. Sad, that. Note to self...make more money... Akiba, that is true of me as well, though, oddly, my husband was rather

oblivious, which is why I became the " family financial demon! "

love to you all. NO entity has the right to withdraw funds like that

after the account has been cancelled. If you bank at a large bank,

they will often refund that amount if you file a police report through

them and claim fraud. Even a credit union can help you with this.

Love to you, Akiba, and to all watching their funds,

n

Tee-hee...You and me both! I can't tell you how many times I've closed and reopened accts. All it takes is having your purse stolen and all your identifiable information you own in it. Oh believe me, I'd notice it now! My income has changed as of last March. $300

child support (for 2 kids... disgrace!) is no more, since the loser ex, quit,

and of course never notified child support where his new job is, and $250

electric bill since June.

LOL... that happened to me too. I kept canceling and they kept giving me a free month. Finally I told them I didn't want any more AOL whether free or not. But it does work for those who want AOL. Sharon This email is a natural hand made product. The slight variations in spelling and grammar enhance its individual character and beauty and in no way are to be considered flaws or defects. When you are ready to cancel you can call your bank. My bank (or was it Challis?) said they have a special way of dealing with AOL because they are (or were) notorious for failing to stop the automatic withdrawal. hugs))Sharon This email is a natural hand made product. AOL was one of two places I allowed to do the automatic withdrawl from my account. When I canceled my AOL, I called the bank to be sure the payments were stopped. The man actually laughed when I said AOL. <g> The bank has a policy in place specifically for AOL. This is because AOL will slightly alter the amount being billed (stopping an auto payment is done through name and amount... they catch the amount), by a penny or a few. The payment goes through, it's caught and the bank has to deal with AOL. I was given the information for watching and reporting. Never needed it and that's good! lol
