Guest guest
Hello all. I wanted to pass on info that I learned at the last MS support meeting I went to. Each state's MSS (MS Society) has allocated dollars to give to those who have MS and are needing assistance in paying for DME's (durable medical equipment) and other related needs. Each state has a different dollar amount per year per MSS member. If this money is not used the allocated TOTAL amount could be lowered that is given to that specific MSS branch. So what do you need to do? ................................ First sign up and become a member of your local MSS. Go here to find your local MSS. It's FREE! http://www.nationalmssociety.org/site/PageServer?pagename=HOM_FIND_homepage The more members each MSS has the more dollars that branch could receive. That would make the dollar amount given to each member a higher amount the next year. In Indiana, each member could qualify for $450 in assistance per year. (They are voting 11/3 to make that amount $700.) Secondly, USE this FREE money. If this money is NOT used, it does NOT roll over to the next year. So your MSS branch could be given less dollars to assist their members the following year. I will be applying to have the MSS pay for a grab bar in the tub for me. If your insurance doesn't pay the full amount of your scooter then apply for this money to help cover the part you may have to pay. If in doubt on what they may cover, call them at 1-800 FIGHT MS. I hope this helps all of you in some way.Shirley Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect; it just means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections. ---Unknown
