> Does anyone know where to donate used hearing aids?

We've always trusted our son's audiologist to find a new home for them. Ask if

there is a

local Hearing Aid Bank, or other organization that can find a new home for them.

You can

also donate them to any of the civic organizations listed on this page:

I see Kay already beat me to the answer on this one. We just donated my

daughters to the Lion's club.

Does anyone know where to donate used hearing aids? We are in a very

fortunate position of having upgraded to digital Oticon digifocus and have a

pair of Oticon Multifocus sitting at home in a drawer. There must be some

child somewhere who can benefit from them? Can someone help me find him or

her?

Thanks

The e School for the Deaf would be glad to take them. There are always

children there whose families cannot afford Multifocus technology for their

children but could benefit from it. e has a loaner bank, but these

aids would not sit in a drawer. If you are interested, call the school at

and ask for Audiology or Lepine.

Hi, Your county health department is usually aware of children who need such

help. This might be a place to ask if they take donations of used hearing

aids. In our county the Children's Special Health Care Services is run

through the local health department. Also, if you have an Intermediate

School District, they might find someone who needs them. Our audiologist,

works with the local health districts and will take used hearing aids,

recondition them, and give them to someone less fortunate. If you don't

need them for backup incase repairs are needed on the present hearing aids,

this is a generous gesture.

Hi, It is great that people want to donate their hearing aids, but shouldn't

they hold on to them as back ups?

I agree! I wish I had a back up pair! My son lost his and we had nothing for

three weeks! But it is very generous!

I would advise that. We donated our first pair when my daughter got her third,

still keeping the second as backups.

Hello,

Try contacting your health dept. or birth - three program if you have one.

They may be able to give away your hearing aids or lend them out as loaners.

Hope this helps.

We fortunately do have backups as well. But, even if I didn't, I would

probably get digital loaners so that would have consisent

amplification. Using his Multifocus (analog) aids would sound very different

to him. Thanks for your input
