I think I'd have your mom come along and keep him while you're in court. I'm

sure their must be a restaurant nearby or something that she could sit at.

Good luck :o)

If your mom is willing to go to court with you why go through the hassle? You

might want to start pumping and get some milk stored just because it is good to

have. Then if you don't feel confident about him taking a bottle then your mom

could bring him. My kids didn't really like taking a bottle from me but would

from others. ( If I left the house) If you get some milk pumped than you could

have hubby give him a bottle at one of his really hungry feeds. That way he

will take the bottle more readily and you could pump for that feed. Its all so

complicated, the pumping and storing process. I've never been very good at it.

It sounds like your mom is a great help. I wish mine lived closer. Good luck

to you.

: If its only going to be one day I wouldn't

bother with a bottle. I think your mom could feed him

with a spoon or a dropper. I would get a manual pump

if you decide to pump. I have an electric one so don't

know which to recommend.

I have an Avent Isis. It is very good and lived up to all my expectations. I

think its success lies in that it brings on a let down almost as quickly as

the baby would, which is vital to get a decent amount. I would highly

recommend it.

The Avent Isis is a manual pump, but it's very easy to use. I have also used

the Avent electric and the old style manual by Avent. The Isis is wayyyyy

superior to both!

Yes. it's very quiet as well. I only ever used it at home. Did you get the

back to work version that comes with a little bag and ice packs? I tried to

get that separetely after I bought my pump when I was thinking about working

part time but they don't sell it separately. I changed my mind in the end

anyway! Good luck with pumping at work!

Stevie,

We haven't really felt the impact of the euro here in the UK yet as our

government 'opted out' I think the pound is still pretty strong against other

currencies.

I haven't even seen a euro yet! When we were in France in January though all

the prices were listed in francs first with the price in euros underneath and

you could in theory pay in euros. Weird!! I hope we hang on to our british

pound.

It is weird to have all those different currencies. I remember carryng a

calculater to convert the dollar to other monies. After a while you can

do it in your head. I collected all kinds of money while I ws there, &

would love to see a euro. I have $$ from yugoslavia when it was just

yugoslavia, & when it split I managed to get som from croatia. I also

collect Monopoly games & the cheapest is from turkey, 65 cents & the

most expensive from UK. It's the EEC version with the country pieces mad

of brass. That was a whoppig $ 165.

Hannah,

I haven't seen a Euro here in Portugal yet either, although all the cash

registers have the escudos price and the euro price together (what a

confusion at first!) and so do our utility bills. From what I've heard, we

can't even get them here for the time being. So much for simplification!! :)

I'm going to be heading back to the US next month -- this month! Wow, March

went fast! -- and maybe while I'm leaving the US, I could try to find a

large bank on the east coast that carries some... lol wouldn't that be a

hoot to pay my bills with Euros and ask for change?! >:)

If you ever want some portuguese currency, holler. :) We'll be stationed

here at least two more years. The current rate is about 180 to the dollar.

We thought it was pretty funny when we actually found a 1 escudo coin...

wonder if it was worth more melted down! :)

Don't you find it interesting that these cheapie pumps are made by BOTTLE

COMPANIES?? They are hoping that your pump will not work sufficiently and

you will use more bottles! All of those pumps are a scam as far as I am

concerned. The Avent Isis is the only one that I have heard of that works

well made by a bottle company.

Wendi,

What is what you were referring to when you said " maybe that is what I need

the next time around since I don't let down to a pump? " I was just curious

and cannot recall what Hannah said. I cannot let down to a pump either.

I said that I thought the secret of the Avent Isis pump working so well is

that it makes your milk let down almost as quickly as the baby does. I had

only ever had my milk let down once when using other pumps with my first two,

but the Avent Isis causes a let down every time w/o fail for me.

Cherie,

The Avent Isis is a manual pump. I think it is the best, from what I have

heard for this type of pump. Of course, the hospital grade double pump is

ideal.
