Guest guest
Hi all- Just thought I would post my opinion about the best dan! doc in the US. I've seen some of the big name dan! docs and I've seen some that were not even on the map. My opinion as to who you should see is as follows ....just trying to help. 1. You should do a detailed history of your childs health AND mental development. 2. If your child isn't severely affected by autism you should research what DAN! doc has a niche for what your childs major ailment is for example, if you think your child is a total metal kid, see so-and-so or if you think your child is just a diet/ gut kid see whats-her-face. NOTE: Some docs don't take a "whole picture" approach they only go along the lines of what they think causes autism. 3. If you think your child is an "everything kid" (gut, metal, viral, yeast) and severely / moderately affected by autism see a doc that is a big name doc. Not that no-name docs can't do the same thing but there is a reason as to why big name docs have their names plastered all over the autism world. 4. Yes, it sucks to dish out all the money, for big name docs, but don't forget why your doing it. Remember all the things you said you were going to do with your child on the day they were born, ride a bike, play little league, go to prom, drive a car, have a girlfriend. We have to fight for those moments for our kids, while they are GIVEN to normally developing kids. Sucks yes, but it's just the way it is 5.Again, I've seen big name docs...do you want to know what made the doc successful with my kid........ME If I went in to the appt. and I could keep up with the doc, and not only that but add an opinion of the topic, they were more inclined to do more with my child. They felt confident that I would be able to handle the treatment at home and they were more inclined to do harder protocols. SO GET EDUCATED! If you want to see the best-of-the-best, because they want to work with smart, educated (on autism) parents. Rose
