Appointment Reminder Calls

Hello again, group:

Does anyone out there do reminder calls (either automated or in person)

for every outpatient PT/OT/ST appointment? We tried that ages ago and

found that the patients didn't want to receive multiple calls per week

from us. It became more of an annoyance to them rather than a deterrent

to last-minute cancellations.

What is your experience if you do this?

We call all appointments 48 hours in advance. This way we have captured

folks that need to reschedule, and also to put folks in from our

cancellation lists. The personal touch has been worth it, as most of our

weeks have less than 5% open slots due to the magical skill of our amazing

receptionist and scheduler!

Automated calls may remind the client but they may not capture reschedules.

Just my two cents!
