My doctor knows how sceptical I am concerning any treatments. He has said stents are a last resort since they come out so often - he really doesn't suggest them for me. _________ " They say mine is idiopathic calcification Pancreatitis. " and all those with cacification of the pancreas... My doctor - as nice as he is, insists that all calcified pancreases are caused by alcohol. Please email me your brief historys.. I would like to prove to him this is not true. The misinformation and lack of even the simplest knowledge about this disease is rampant in the medical community. _________ Did anyone see th movie Lorenzo's Oil? The father of a boy with a fatal disease finds a cure for the disease himself. Its a true story. They started by organizing a symposium and comparing notes. The father was not a doctor or even a scientist. It can be done. All of the pieces of the puzzle must be exposed to light.
Guest guest
Hi I know I am not Marie but I thought I would answer this generally. When an ercp is done usually sphincter manometry is done to check the pressure of the sphinter(s) to see if they are under an extreme pressure causing a sod (sphinter of oddi dysfunction)
Guest guest
Hi , No, I had no test it was more or less and educated guess. Anymore these Drs. are diagnosing with educated guesses. I don't even know anymore. I have been given so many reasons why I have pancreatitis. Now I have a Dr. that is sure my pancreatitis is caused by my bad pancreatic duct. I admit that there is great variety in cloth nappies and some are produced in non-environmentally friendly ways but there are also alot that are totally enviro. friendly. Washing them does not have to involve chlorine bleaches and bio powders and if done correctly does not lead to any real increase in energy use within the house. The issue with regard to the proportion of landfill waste attributable to disposable nappies is actually closer to 4%, but its not only the amount of waste but the type. The waste is actually low grade clinical waste and therefore should be treated as such and not just thrown on a landfill site. Also this 4% of waste is in the main non biodegradable and will be around for at least 400 yrs unlike the paper, card and food waste that although it would be better being composted at least the breakdown on the landfill site. The energy required to produce the nappies, package them and transport them day after day to shops etc is far in excess than that of a one off package with a one off delivery of cloth reusables. The products used in disposable nappies is not regulated and liscenced and therefore it is not known how safe it is for our babies and for the landfill. A Few quotes from the Womans Enviromental Network:- Real Nappies - use 3.5 times less energy - use 90 times fewer non renewable resources - produce 60 times less solid waste - use less water in their entire lifetime than throwaways I prefer to call disposables non-disposables!!! Guest guest
I didn't think it would take long for WEN to rear its head... unfortunately not that many people agree with their statistics, and the numbers they give out are based on wild and incorrect assumptions. I wish someone would quote figures from other than WEN - it seems to be the same ones going around and around, being requoted on nappy web sites. Let's have some correct data for a change!
