Guest guest
don't finish what you have left. Break them up & throw them out. Then quit again. Hopefully the time left will benefit you to improve lung function before your surgery. You fell off, don't beat yourself up. Just STOP now .. right now!!! ok? Lyssa I know you can do this! Guest guest
, throw them away and drink to flush the system out! Dawn I fell off!!! okay everyone, I have fallen off the smoking wagon!! It all started on Friday night. I had been doing very good during the last 3 weeks, only alloweing myself a cigarette " treat " while out on the weekends. Never more than 5 for the whole weekend, Then last weekend, I went away with a group of ladies. Many of us had quit smoking around the same time, but when I got there, they were ALL smoking!!! I couldn't stand it, and broke down. I smoked 2 packs over the course of the weekend, and since then I have smoked another pack. I have a few cigarettes left. I want to finish them up, and then stop again. They are also ultralights (can you see me making excuses), so I haven't gone back to my full flavor. In my defense, I ran out of my Zyban, but I have since gotten a new prescription and plan on going to pick it up at lunch time. I feel EXTREMELY guilty about all this, and wonder if the 2 1/2 weeks I have till surgery will be enough to clear my lungs up. My surgery is on Halloween I am already starting to feel the effects of starting up again, and believe me, I DON'T LIKE IT!!! and now I am afraid. During the 3 weeks that I did quit, I felt much better, and could definetely tell the difference. Anyone have any thoughts on this??? Thanks surgery date scheduled for 10/31/
Guest guest
, The only thing I can suggest is that you just keep trying. Try using the patch. They're somewhat expensive but they helped me quite a bit. Don't feel guilty, it's a very strong addiction as you well know. My wife quit ten years ago and still gets cravings. that's how powerful the addiction is. Just keep trying and you will succeed. Don
Guest guest
Hi , I have tried to quit smoking many times so I know how hard it is for you , when I started researching about WLS, I knew I wanted to quit smoking, and try to lose some weight a few months before I had surgery. So last month I went to a hypnotist, to stop smoking and to help me with my food cravings. So far it as been great, I don't get the crazy, Im going to freak feeling lol, like I did all the other times I tried to quit smoking. It's actually been very easy, the craving isn't there. I really didn't believe it would or could be be this helpful to me. Good Luck > okay everyone, I have fallen off the smoking wagon!! > > It all started on Friday night. Guest guest
Hi Kim, Well the thing is, he tells you to think of 5 foods you want to reduce your cravings for, I was having trouble focusing, I thought if I thought of too many things it wouldn't work, so I focused on soda (coke), and french fries, and I haven't had the craving for either. So I would say it works, but I probably could have got a little more from it, if I could focus better on more foods. I also read that Carnie , went to a hypnotist after she had her surgery to help with cravings, I don't know if it worked for her or not though. > , > How did it work with the food cravings? > Kim
