Well, that could just be manipulation. It amounts to the same thing.

What you can never know is whether she believed the lies. BP s seem to

be able to convince themselves quite thoroughly of the New Truth that

they invent.

IMHO, when they believe it, even though false, it is gaslighting. If

they have not deluded themselves into believing it, it is just lying.

The point is moot, however, since whether they beleive it or not, they

are speaking falsely to elicitie a responce or repaint a scenario that

serves their purposes.

I think this is gas lighting. It makes great fodder for the " doting

mother " rubbish, while embarrassing me.
