Guest guest
I am curious what protocols other IRF and acute care facilities have in place for DVT risk. Do you place patients on hold if a Doppler ordered awaiting the results? Upon confirming the presence of a DVT is bed rest used for 24 hours if adequate anti coagulation is already in place or are normal rehabilitation services resumed immediately without bedrest? Our physicians use the Doppler as a screening tool and only place the patient on bedrest if the test is positive or there is very strong suspicion of a DVT in advance of the Doppler being completed. The majority of Doppler orders are screens and they do not hold any therapy services in advance of the study being completed. I appreciate any feedback on DVT management at your facilities. Upon billing AETNA our clinic received a fax to accept a " Proposed Amount " payment for a lesser amount than what we billed. I accepted the first 2 amounts and now it seems the rates are getting less. Does anyone have any suggestions? Therapy 4 Kids
