Guest guest
We staff our inpatient settings 7 days per week - this includes inpatient rehab, skilled and acute. Our outpatient staff do not work weekends. Our staff work approximately 2 weekends in an 8 week period - roughly 1/month, but slight more since some months have 5 weekends. We have staff that are weekend option - they work every weekend + 1 or 2 days per week depending on their contract, and receive additional benefits. The full time staff receive a day off before and a day off after the weekend - overtime is discouraged. We also have prn staff that work weekends to help us from having to do more than 2 in an 8 week schedule. Many of our prn staff have full time jobs elsewhere. Productivity is the same regardless of the day. For rehab - we also schedule 3 hours for patients to meet the 5/7 day requirement. For skilled, we schedule according to the RUG groups and plans. Hope this helps. Robin King, PT, CCCE Manager, CWL - REHAB THERAPY Health Robin.King@...
