Many of you probably don't know me - I've only made one post but I have

privately e-mailed a number of you to get a feel about how the surgery had

affected you (and I appreciate all your replies!). I've been lurking in

order to get a feel for how everyone who had the procedure with Dr. R felt

about it, and I also assumed I would have a few month's wait as I tried to

get approval from my insurance company. I'm very glad to hear that even

those of you with initial problems are doing well now, and I agree with you

all about Dr. R's bedside manner. It's so wonderful to not have a doctor

condescend to me and to actually look me in the eye like I was a person ...

anyway ...

I feel a little guilty admitting this - but thought I would since everyone

seems down about fighting with their insurance company. I called my company

today just to see when I might get an answer from them (I first saw Dr. R

three Saturdays ago). Well - the lady on the phone was extremely pleasant

and told me that I had already been approved and that, in fact, I didn't

even need to get pre-approval in the first place! Can you actually believe

it? In case you're wondering, I'm with The Guardian.

My own bad news is that I have to lose weight in order to get into Dr. R's

range. So - God help me and I hope it's the last time I EVER have to do

this - I'm going back to " my " bariatric specialist to be weighed on his

accurate scales and start some sort of crazy diet. (I call him " mine "

because I first saw him when I was 7 years old and 98 pounds, and I have

since been back and forth to him over the years numerous times.)

SO - keep up the good fight and I'm sure you'll eventually convince them to

ante up and do the right thing!

Sincerely,
