Guest guest
I had a similar problem a few years ago when I took oral EDTA for a bone spur. I thought I had removed most of my mercury and arsenic with chelation a few years before but began having lots of difficulty while on the EDTA and the tell-tale metallic breath. It seemd to free up the metals without removing all of it. Two rounds of DMPS eliminated the problems. I used IV DMPS but if you are uncomfortable with that, you could do it orally or perhaps use DMSA but DMPS would be my choice since it removes mercury better. Guest guest
I forgot to mention that alfalfa and vitamin C helped provide temporary symptom relief and probably did some blood cleansing while I waited to use the DMPS to properly remove the freed-up metals. Also, I did a few rounds of cilantro tea years ago when first starting to detox and found it caused extreme pain in my legs and arms. Not sure if this was metals being freed up or an allergic response of some sort but given your symptoms, I'd discontinue it at least for awhile. Thanks for any help you can > offer........kira Hi Kira, What I would call proper chelation. Andy's protocol. Start by taking lots of vitamins 4 times a day and chelate with DMSA and ALA, taking them every 3-4 hours. You can find all the details in the Files. In case you have any question, please ask more I think the vitamins would be very important now, for immediate help. Did you try milk thistle? (just an idea...) I am sorry that I have never really got this part down pat about what to do with current exposures and redistribution etc. I think charcoal is fine, and possibly helpful. Also selenium. See: /message/807 this post might be interesting? (which I have pulled from ANDY_INDEX file): /message/34318 what can be done AFTER a bad reaction to DMPS injections? best wishes, Moria
Guest guest
Whoops, I forgot to say: then in a week or so you can start low dose every 3/4 hours chelation with one or more of DMSA/DMPS/ALA. But most important I think is to stop the other chelation agents right away. Moria > > Hi there, > > and thanks to Moria and Andy who responded to my " Help a Newbie " > > post. Thanks for any help you can > offer........kira I already answered this privately with accurate information. This is the kind of situation where people mess up REALLY BADLY by desparately trying a lot of random stuff they get off the internet and getting much, much worse (and their doctors usually help by doing some random things they heard from some other doc who doesn't know what they are doing). It is very important to calm down, wait it out, and take safe steps to suppress symptoms rather than trying a bunch more interventions. . .. . . . . . . Andy . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . There are only 4 of those I know about so far. The more common adverse recactions that people survive are described at www.dmpsbackfire.com. This is the kind of desparate random intervention I was cautioning about in my earlier e-mail. There are many physicians I know who would do this. I know of one case where the phsician in fact DID use a DMPS injection in an effort to clear up an adverse reaction of this type and did think the patient was going to die. The patient did survive but the alternative doc was so concerned that she spent several days begging her mainstream colleagues to admit the patient to a hospital and treat her appropriately. . .. . . >but if you are uncomfortable with that, you could do it orally or > perhaps use DMSA but DMPS would be my choice since it removes mercury better. > Gaylen > > > [Non-text portions of this message ha

Guest guest
Thank Gaylen, I don't know if I mentioned this, but I did cilantro tincture and heavily-cilantro'd-pesto at the same time as the EDTA; not doing anything halfway, I went a little overboard with the " more is better " theme--and extreme pain is what I got. kira > I forgot to mention that alfalfa and vitamin C helped provide temporary > symptom relief and probably did some blood cleansing while I waited to use > the DMPS to properly remove the freed-up metals. > > Also, I did a few rounds of cilantro tea years ago when first starting to > detox and found it caused extreme pain in my legs and arms. Cilantro appears is likely a chelator. I have read a few of accounts of adults getting better OR worse OR better then worse using it. I think timing is the issue here (as with other chelation agents). best wishes, Moria
