My son was vaccine injured; I know that. Whether or not he was predisposed from some mercury from me I don't know. (Before his vaccs his development was excellent; above normal-we know this now). His development was stunted after his MMR at 15 mos & regressed a bit. And *after* weaning (he nursed for a few years), his autism became much more apparent & he regressed considerably. I do think that's when his major gut problems started. So breastfeeding was definitely protective in some big way for him. As well as emotionally great for both of us. My second son has never been vaccinated, has some temperament issues but is otherwise developing typically (he's 4-1/2 yrs old). His hair test is not back yet. My daughter is so far, high strung, but on track or better developmentally. I would say she should absolutely **NOT** try to detox while breastfeeding; it will dump into her milk supply & in doing so could harm the baby. It's her decision, but weaning early now to detox would depend on how she is feeling & how her baby is doing. If all is going well with nursing & she feels relatively fine, just continue as long as she feels like it or when baby begins to show signs of weaning (which can come at all different ages, depending on the baby; then she can encourage it further if she'd like). It's a relatively short time (even for someone like me who goes beyond the norm lol), so I'm just going to wait until we're all done & then work on getting the amalgams out & detoxing. It's really up to her to decide based on her personal circumstances. But I feel safe in saying she shouldn't do anything to encourage detoxing while nursing her baby. (hopefully she isn't vaccinating...that's another topic altogether!). Best of luck, Michele

Guest guest
I would not guess, but check the levels of mercury in her breast milk and , if possible, compare them with the levels of mercury in the formula (I do not know if the companies have this info or she can order the test from DDI). I breastfed long, and had amalgams put in my mouth while breastfeeding. My son improved and regained some lost skills without any other intervention when I stopped breastfeeding. Guest guest
My children are mercury toxic entirely from my fillings (absorbed in the womb and through the breast milk). They have not been diagnosed autistic or anything, but I think my daughter is probably ADHD and my son has OCD traits. My son meets the counting rules for mercury, but both of them are also high in lead, antimony, aluminium and arsenic. Dagmar. Guest guest
I would think that it would be OK to add some epsom salt to his bathwater... I know that Hyland's makes an infant vitamin C dissolvable tablet... and she should probably have her breastmilk checked if she is worried about it. How does the baby seem otherwise in terms of development and sensory issues? Guest guest
Hello, Which lab tests breast milk for mercury? Guest guest
People on this list have used DDI to test for mercury in breast milk.
