Guest guest
I may be out of line here, but can I make a suggestion about some specific questions that I keep seeing on NMTC? Two of the " popular " questions are about MedQuist (reputation, etc.) and statutory vs. employee vs. IC...I know that I've been lurking on this listserv over the summer and I've seen these questions multiple times -- and some good answers. So my request is that if you have a question such as that could you please check the archives of the group first? You do that from groups.yahoo.com and then click on NMTC. This is NOT directed at anyone, it's just a suggestion Sara starting (awesome) MT program at CC next week

Guest guest
Not only that but sometimes (at least for me) it is just quicker to address the question right to NMTC e-mail, as I find it very time-consuming and laborious to log into Yahoo and search for the information. I know I do not mind it when issues already discussed (i.e. followup vs follow up vs follow-up) come up again. I am willing to add my 2 cents each time it comes up. Bev W. Guest guest
I agree. I also think that having the same subjects come up amplifies what we learn on them each time they do. For instance, Jan (who is on vacation this week) was inactive for a long time and just recently returned to active list participation. The subject of how EDiX ties QA ratings to line rate came up, and Jan, an EDiX employee, gave us the best explanation I've ever seen of that process. The subject had come up before, but Jan wasn't here to post about it. I also am willing to contribute what I know or think each time subjects arise about which I DO know anything, and that brings up another reason to post it to the list: I may have more knowledge this time around than the last time the subject came up, and consequently my opinion may have changed considerably. There's nothing wrong with searching the archives, but there's nothing wrong with requesting current opinions on a given subject either. Jayni This e-mail has been scanned with Norton Antivirus updated no more than 12 hours ago. Is your virus program up to date? Guest guest
What a great explanation. I don't mind repeat discussions either. Right now, I don't work for a national company, and basically don't pay much attention to the emails as to what company is better, what they require, who pays better etc. But one day I might want to venture that way and would hope I could ask those questions instead of memorizing them all now as they post LOL.......... This list is great. I am very thankful for the help I get from all of you. I try to help as much as I can, but sometimes the questions and some answers are posted before I read email again. It's almost a race for me sometimes to try to answer first. <grin> Ramona RaLeeII@... I agree. I also think that having the same subjects come up amplifies what we learn on them each time they do. Guest guest
>Don't you have to be a member of Yahoo to be on this list? Nope. Anyone, from any email address, can subscribe to a yahoo list. The information is included on the pages for the yahoo lists/groups. For example, to subscribe to this list, you can send mail to nmtc-subscribe . To get off the list, you send mail to nmtc-unsubscribe . If you are not a member of yahoo, you won't be able to access private list stuff -- so if the list has booksmarks or has other files, pictures, etc. stored on yahoo's server at the site for the list, you can't access that unless you become a member of yahoo. I have never needed to use that stuff for any list I am on so I never joined yahoo. -Allie

Don't forget the endless ads that show up instead of the messages! (some lists have public archives but you must allow yahoo cookies to view them). It is much faster to just ask the list at large -- and besides, I always figure there are more people on the list or different people, and they might have opinions that I'd like to hear. -Allie

Guest guest
Not to mention that a lot of people send comments on such subjects by private email and not to the list, so the answers sought in the archives are probably very limited on such subjects.
