Guest guest
--- In orthognathicsurgerysupport@y..., mla72653 <no_reply@y...> Thanks, Marsha, I'm doing pretty well tonight. Think I finally got a handle on the congestion. Note to preopers: watch the milk products. I've been thinking about you. You are having that procedure Friday to remove the hardware, right? Thanks for thinking of me. Cheryl
Guest guest
Hi Cheryl, oh nutrition-guru that you are. Is it true that milk is a mucous producer? Glad you're doing well with the congestion. I was eyeing all the different products in the drugstore tonight wondering which one would do the trick. Have you tried Breathe Right strips at all? My friend swore by them post-op. Just wondering if anyone else has. > I'm doing pretty well tonight. Think I finally got a handle on the > congestion. Guest guest
Funny, the correlation between milk products and congestion hasn't been scientifically proven. In my own control group of one, however, I have found them to be detrimental. As far as the breathe right strips go, my problem isn't so much my nose...as the guck dripping down the back of my throat. I've found that drinking lots of clear liquids (Propel, in my case) is thinning it some. I'm starting to feel much more comfortable tonight (Day 3). I've had people warn me here on the board, though, that my swelling could actually get worse before it gets better. Hard to imagine in my current state. My kids are getting good at averting their eyes when I enter the room.

Guest guest
So maybe you could have a second, albeit brief, career scaring kids? I think my yogi said that milk was a mucous-maker. That's the only place I've heard of it. I'm still wading my way through the Diet & Nutrition book he recommended. I'm taking notes now, for my stint in a few weeks. I'm kind of worried about the congestion business. I can live without milk for awhile if it's gonna be a problem. Jury still out on the breathe right strips. Could probably use them on my husband who loves to serenade me awake in the morning with a snorefest... > Funny, the correlation between milk products and congestion hasn't > been scientifically proven.
