My son has the N24 and, > currently, we live in CO so moisture is not too much of a problem Hi Orla! The current model of the Dri & Store will not hold the body processor of either the Nucleus or Clarion implants. The new model will hold the Clarion, or the Nucleus with the single battery pack. I'm going to be doing the TX AGBell Conference in October and Ear Technology Corp tells me the unit (called the Dry & Store Global) will be on the market then and, since they can't attend the conference, will send me a unit to display on one of my exhibit tables. We use the Super Dri-Aid. When going on a trip, I take a heavy duty freezer bag and dump in 1 jar of Super Dri-Aid and stick it in my purse. At night, I just wrap a tissue around whatever hearing equipment he's wearing (currently the ESPrit & Hearing Aid) and zip it up in the freezer bag. If we're camping, I tuck the freezer bag in the little pouch that's over his head in the tent. If we're indoors, I just put it on the nightstand near his head. Actually, he does it now, but I always double-check to see that he did it. At home, I put empty 2 jars of the pellets into a bowl with a tight fitting lid and put a thin circle of foam over that. His body processor, BTE processor, Hearing Aid, and spare all fit into the bowl - with not much room to spare. When the indicator pellets aren't blue any more, I empty them into a glass bowl and put it into the microwave. It's real important to remember to put them into a glass bowl, else you have a real mess on your hands. ;-) Give Piers a " Howdy " from me. ;-) Hugs, Kay
Guest guest
Hi Orla, We made our own Dry Aid Kit. I took a standard dry aid, hearing aid kit and sliced the plastic holder in half. I then glued it into a Tupper ware container, a standard sandwich holder will do. Then I put a small piece of anti-static foam in the bottom. It works wonderfully. The coil and the mic should fit but it will not fit the Sprint processor. We use the kit that came with it for now. No problems. The biggest problems we have had with moisture with the aids have always been in the earmolds, anyway, which doesn't apply to the CI.
