to mike, re: splint question

Hi Mike,

I mustof miss'd your initial post about the splint question but from

what I have discerned from reading posts for the last year on this

board is that the splint issue is really confusing... I went in to

surgery fully expecting to have the splint on for weeks after but at

my 1 week follow up exam my doc removed it... I think it depends a

lot on whether you are wired or have rigid fixation like me. My

splint was just positioned, now wired in. For me it was such a

pleasant surprise not to have the splint -- a real bonus. I thought

I knew all about it from reading on this board so I didn't even

bother to ask my surgeon ahead of tiem... ASK YOUR SURGEON so you

know exactly what he has planned for you... seems each case is

different when it comes to the splint issue..
